Chindambram to extend amnesty given to Kasahmir youth to Sikhs also. </span></p> <p style="text-align: left"></p> <p style="text-align: left"><span style="color: navy">Adding further about the about Blacklisted Sikhs, Sukhbir said that before moving their case to the Union Government, Punjab government must be provided these blacklists. He said that Punjab Government had been requesting Union Home Ministry to share these blacklists with Punjab government so that state could investigate their antecedents and take a view on those who want to return to mainstream. He regretted that despite various reminders, the Union Home Ministry has refused to share these lists with the Punjab government. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal would forcefully raise this issue in the ongoing Parliament session and impress upon Congress led UPA government that citizens of all states desirous of returning to mainstream should be treated equally and uniform amnesty scheme should be implemented for the citizens of all states. </span></p> <p style="text-align: left"></p> <p style="text-align: left"><span style="color: navy">However, two days ago during his visit in the border city Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram had asked the chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, ““Here government of Punjab should prepare proposal for the return of Sikh youth and Union Government would happily facilitate them to join the national mainstream. “If we are considering the scheme for the misguided youth of Jammu and Kashmir, certainly scheme would also be for the Sikh youths too”. P. Chidambaram in the presence of Parkash Singh Badal had said that Black list carrying the name of Sikhs who were ready to shun the demand of Khalisthan and also ready to give up militancy could return to India. </span></p> <p style="text-align: left"></p> <p style="text-align: left"><span style="color: navy">Expressing concern over the beheading of innocent Sikhs in North Western Frontier region of Pakistan, Sukhbir said government of India should build up international pressure on Pakistan to force it take immediate steps to take punitive action against the culprits. “The government should not sleep in this matter. Life of Sikhs should be protected”. Sukhbir quipped. </span></p> <p style="text-align: left"></p> <p style="text-align: left"><span style="color: navy">Sukhbir requested to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to take all diplomatic steps to force Pakistan to save the lives of Sikhs in the captivity of Taliban and bringing to book the guilty of gruesome killing of innocent Sikhs. </span></p> <p style="text-align: left"></p> <p style="text-align: left"><span style="color: navy">Showing concern for increasing attacks on Punjabis in general and Sikhs in particular in various countries including UK, Australia and now in Pakistan,. Sukhbir said that soft peddling of these serious attacks by Union External Affair Ministry, was sending a message that government of India was hardly concerned about life and security of its citizens working in various countries. </span></p> <p style="text-align: left"></p> <p style="text-align: left"><span style="color: navy">Sukhbir also condemned the murder of a Sikh shopkeeper Gurmail Singh in Huddersfield town in UK who has been savagely attacked by four youth on Saturday. He said that increasing attack on Punjabis in various countries, who have made a mark in various fields with sheer hard work and dedication, was a worrisome and Union Government must send All Party Parliamentary delegation to these countries to assure Indian immigrants about their safety and also force respective countries to take pro-active steps for the protection of Indian citizens.</span> </p></blockquote><p></p>
