By: Surjit Singh Flora We all know that big boys in primary or high school always bully the new and the weaker students, and the new immigrants. These kinds of guys no one wanted to mess around with them. They always try to would hang around the corridors or stairway after class just to harass other students. Bullying is when someone does or says something to hurt someone else. It is always on purpose. Bullies can work on their own or in packs. Either way, bullying is about making someone feel small and powerless. No one asks to be bullied, and no one deserves it. A bully uses strength or power to frighten or hurt weaker people. They usually pick on people who are different from them such as those who are shy or are from different backgrounds, such as new immigrants and social classes. Bullying varies from physical attacks to psychological abuse such as name-calling, such as ****. Many bullies come from families where they have experienced firsthand bullying either from an older sibling or relative. They release their frustration on other children so that they can feel confident and strong. Studies show that many bullies, who are unable to control their violent behavior when young, become criminals later on in life. So, what do you do if you are a bully? Ask yourself how it would feel if you were the person on the receiving another end. Would you like it if someone hit you and called you with names? Or while you waking from an other class to second one you will be harassed , bulled , how you going to feel it? To get ride off from your bullying behavior and get respect from your fellow students, talk to someone you trust like your counseling teacher or a friend when you feel frustrated. Manage your anger and find ways to let steam off when you are upset. Bullying is not tolerated in learning institutions. Also it could lead you to serious trouble with the school administration. In other parts of the world, victims of bullying have gone to school with a gun and shot several classmates because they were tired of being bullied. TIPS TO BE SAFE: It’s not your fault, it’s about the bully, not you, and you don’t deserve to be bullied. You deserve to be safe. So Walk away and get to a safe place, Avoid places where bullying has happened. Think of what you can say to someone who bullies, Stick with people who will stick up for you. Talk to someone you trust, like your parents, a friend, a teacher, a counselor or coach. Remember that confiding in someone is not the same as tattling, especially when it comes to your safety. Work out a plan to put an end to it, together.Contact an authority, like a school principal or the police .You don’t have to be clever or tough. Walking away sends a powerful message.Try not to lose your cool even if you’re upset .Fighting will make it worse. Try not to stoop to the bully’s level. If you’ve tried a few different things to make the bullying stop, and it’s still happening, don’t give up. Talk to someone else, and keep trying. Bottom line is the only way you can get respect is if you give respect to others. http://www.{censored}/news.php?news=9231
