[B]Honest work and deeds, worship and charity, sharing and caring, selfless service and meditation are the main pillars of Sikh way of life.[/B] A Sikh thus belongs to a race of straight forward persons of action and emotions, sympathy and love, loving truth and truthful living. [B]What not to do;[/B] 1)- Simple living and high thinking should be his guide words. 2)- Sikh should never steal, beg or gamble. 3)- Sikh should regard poor man’s mouth as the cash chest (till) of the Guru. 4)- The Sikh should not differentiate in between his son and daughter and equality be used to rearing them up. 5)- Every Sikh should always observe the rules of Sikh code of conduct and conventions from cradle to cremation. 6)- Sikhs are casteless people and they should go to wedlock with union of souls, one soul two bodies. This sanctity makes the marriage. 7)- The Sikh should not marry a second wife if his first wife is alive. This is against the law of the land also. 8)- The Sikh should never dis-respect hairs, but always keep his/her hairs covered 10)- The Sikh should not discriminate while doing service to humanity. He should serve all equally without thinking of one’sreligion, caste, color or creed.[/B] Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj in Nitnem. Himself gives the reference of Gur meaning Guru To Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, Parvati mai!! Thats your assumption only. You are friend of all but enemy to none except the oppression. You would serve the poor without distinction of Caste, Creed, religion or region and would protect them with Deg (community food) and The ( physical strength). Five freedoms ;[/B] According to the Guru a person who is baptized completely cut off from his social past in which he had been living before being baptized..
