Amberseria Ji, I guess you agree there is a problem between the Sikhs and majority ruling class in India. I am not sure whether there is direct conflict between Hindus and Sikhs. If the Hindu families were supposed to ‘provide’ one male in family to be Sikh we would have had not only increase in Sikh population but family ties with them too. This went by the board – why? Deras and Babas popping up all over – why? Recently someone discovered about 100m followers of Guru Nanak in South of India – over 500 years after Nanak – has that made any impact on Sikh society – no – why? Your comment that Sikhs are not needed by Hindus today implies Hindus needed Sikhs – when Guru Nanak knocked sense into (northern Indian people?) Hindus of that time something stirred our minds and changed direction ‘to follow Guru Nanak’s teachings’ and we did– why? The line of the discussion that I was following in the posts above related to the corruption of scriptures – may be a slight departure from the above but related in my understanding. What is this nature in ‘humans’ (am I taking liberty with this word?) that all the decent documents, scriptures, and tenets have to be corrupted rather than understood – why? The Granth Sahib tells us not to ignore Vedas and Shasters –but when we attempt (I have enough difficulty going through Sikh scriptures – I have taken analyses from other wiser than me) they are corrupted as well – why? Christian Bible is updated every so often – what teaching should we believe – i.e. when did that start changing and - why? Koran has six revelations over 22 years some superseding the others and some teachings found contradictory and nasiks applied override them, the hadiths – some follow these and some do not – but Islam ruled nearly ½ the world up to some time – why? We have only our Gurus to thank for the Granth Sahib – they knew this (corruption) happens and something to counteract it is necessary – so the saboteurs generate other granths and tenets to fool the gullible. I am educated well enough to see how this is destroying our present and future for our children – it is our duty to share the knowledge and raise the awareness. In general the answer to most of the questions is that we have we have lost the yearning to follow the Inner Truth –why I wonder?
