[QUOTE="spnadmin, post: 186579, member: 35"] Luckysingh ji Are you making a point? Or offering this article for discussion? If the latter -- it is a very good topic for debate. Some questions: 1. Is the author qualified to judge Dilgeer's scholarship as "half-baked?" 2. Does the author know of Dllgeer's academic credentials? Or if knowing them, did the author decide that disagreement on the matter of Dasam Granth makes Dilgeer's academic credentials worthless. He can't have it both ways. 3. Why does the author equate reconsideration of an earlier point of view or conclusion a U-turn? Some would argue that a change of mind is a sign of a mature intellect. 4. Is it possible to critique the work of Dilgeer without associating him with Professor Darshan Singh? That style of argument is called a "straw man argument." Again, one cannot have it both ways. 5. How does close analysis of Bacchitar Natak become "nit-picking" lol not a very scholarly term or disposition on the part of the critic. 6. Has the author acknowledged that there is an established movement, not a good word, within Sikh scholarship to ponder questions raised by Professor Dilgeer and others? Why is he so disturbed by questions? 7. What does it mean to be anti-Sikh? Someone is "anti-panthic if he or she ................................ " I have seen that 'fill in the blanks' exercise on many web sites populated by self-appointed protectors of the faith. They fill in the blanks in all sorts of ways, Sadly for most their grasp of objectivity and critical thinking has yet to be demonstrated. 8. Basically the quote at the start of the article is implying that Dilgeer is a liar. What lies have been unveiled in the article? What proof that they are lies? What facts to the contrary can the author present? [COLOR="Red"]Thread warning at this point. The title of the article invites controversy which can either deal with issues or with personalities.
