[QUOTE="Gyani Jarnail Singh, post: 139865, member: 189"] This shows that Most of the Sikhs are rooted in the PAST...BUT Living in the PRESENT.... ( MAJORITY)while some are rooted in the past and living in the PAST !! (minority).. And the MAJORITY of the Panth Celebrated the Guru Gobind Singh Parkash Ushtav on JANUARY 5th as per the ORIGINAL Nanakshahi Calendar 2003 prepared after 20 years of study, and unanimously passed on the GENERAL HOUSE of the SGPC and Approved by the Five Pyaras and Signed by Akal takhat Jathedar Joginder Singh vedanti, Takhat Keshgarh sahib and Takhat Damdam sahib..and ACCEPTED worldwide by MAJORITY SIKH SANGATS. ( Opposed by a tiny minority of saadhs and sants alligned to deras and taksaals nihungs, hazoor sahib and patna sahib - ALL those who have NEVER followed the PANTH MAINSTREAM and always follwoed their own INDIVIDUAL splinter"maryadas". It was to APPEASE this tiny MINORITY that the present Jathedars/sgpc president pushed thru the HASTY CHANGES to make the Nanakshai calendar a FULLY BIKRIMINISED LUNAR+SOLAR Calendar. Passed by the 13 member SGPC EXCO ONLY ( Instead of SGPC GENERAL HOUSE of over 120 Members as the 2003 NC) with 3 of those members staging a WALK OUT. So effectively ONLY 10 Members passed this calendar and that too with ONLY Akal takhat jathedar ALONE signing it. Takhat DAMDAMA SAHIB Jathedar flatly REFUSED to endorse any "changes". Sikhism/Gurmatt is a WORLD's Most ADVANCED RELIGION...but some are fighting tooth and nail to push it back to the DARK AGES of RAJA BIKRAMJIT and his bikrmi claendar a Hotch Potch of Solar and Lunar Years !! In this HOTCH POTCH...from 2000 - 2100....Guru GOBINS SINGHS Parkash Ushtav will COME in January only 27 TIMES....for over 30 YEARS..the Gurpurab will come TWICE a YEAR..as in 2011 ( 11th january and 31december, 2011 )..and MOST INTERESTING OF ALL 3 of those YEARS WILL NOT EVEN HAVE THE MONTH OF "POH"....so not only is the Gurpurab missing..the entire MONTH is also MISSING !!!!
