This is what I have been trying to explain in other posts, the full analysis is not being done. Firstly the proof is in the pudding, there is a janamsakhi of Bhai Bala. No one has to agree with it. If you do agree with it that's cool too. Starting an argument for the existence of an entity based on the presence of that entity is foolish! The intention no matter how sincere is based on the same issue, a belief. One side is reading the janamsakhi because they want to believe it to be true the other side is reading the janamsakhi to believe it is false. Secondly it is not abnormal for an entity to be completely ignored or misrepresented from history. Cross reference the activity of RSS right now in this regard. In this case however we are not talking about Bhai Wackadoodle, something I just made up out of thin air. We are talking about a historical document pertaining to a historical figure. Thirdly this historical figure does not have any leverage because we have the writings that our Guru's wanted us to read by and from them. They knew people would write about them some lies but also some truth, to deny that there maybe some truth is one sided and more importantly self deceptive. Fourthly, academics in punjab are right to sift these documents to find the myth from the reality. Why? Because these janamsakhis don't end on their last page, there are actual physical places where the communities in long gone history raised noble edifices in honour of some accounts found in these pages. So it's a bitter tablet to swallow but if you really believe that the person who wrote the janamsakhis was also responsible for an extensive land, architectural, social engineering program to support his lies is possible, you really need to get your head checked. Also bear in mind that Bhai Bala would have had to have a map with exact coordinates to stage his covert operation. Pointless fuss.
