ikonkaar We Sikhs are tough people. physically and spiritually. As a community, we'll survive. However, reading this, I wonder what h is wrong with us that we don't take care of the families of our shaheeds? Not a single survivor of these atrocities should want for anything, physically or emotionally. These widows - and the male survivors as well - are the true heroes of the Sikh Quam. They go on year after year, seemingly forgotten, uncared for, disregarded, many living in crime-ridden, dismal ghetto slums with barely the necessities of life. They lived through the violent torturous deaths of husbands and children and - with no time our to mourn and recover - got on with the business of raising their surviving children, with little support from anyone. I know from my own experience that there is a lot of caring within the Sikh community for these women. I also know that hardly a soul actually does anything about it beyond just caring. Caring is well and good, but it's not enough. The occasional Ardas is also good, but that also is not enough. For the material aid, there is an obvious solution. Forgive me, Aman ji and the rest of the SPN Administration, but I really need to yell. I know it's against the rules, but I really need to be heard. Please let it pass. THE SGPC IS SITTING ON WAHEGURU-ONLY-KNOWS HOW MANY MILLIONS/CRORES OF RUPEES. MUCH OF THIS MONEY IS DASVANDH THAT GOOD SIKHS HAVE DONATED IN GOOD FAITH EXPECTING THAT IT WILL BE USED FOR THE GOOD. WHAT POSSIBLE BETTER USE COULD BE MADE OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF ALL OF US THAN PROVIDING THESE SURVIVORS WITH MATERIAL, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL SUSTENANCE?! ? OK. I'll stop yelling now. I finish by saying that the best way to honour our shaheeds is to show our love and familial concern to the survivors. Surely this isn't too much to ask. animatedkhanda
