I respectfully disagree that Guru Nanak was "God" or "God" in man. That theory applies to Christians where Jesus Christ claims to be son of God.
I agree with the concept of "internal potli". My question is about the contents of the "external potli".

Dear spnadmin - Though it is a valid question, but is not directly related with the topic of this thread. At this point, I would like to keep this thread here only and continue to discuss what other things Guru Nanak carried while travelling.
Dear Sikh Royalist - I am not trying to portray Guru Nanak as a super hero. I am just trying to ask the members of this forum to start thinking what would Guru Nanak have carried with him during his travels and a weapon to protect himself from thieves and robbers comes to my mind...
I think it is just applying common sense....One can not just wake up one day and say...let me walk thousands of miles without knowing the risks involved and how to mitigate them....
If Guru Nanak never officially documented his travels details, then how do we know that whatever is in...
Well....I was not referring to attacks by other religious leaders on Guru Nanak. I was referring to "physical" attacks which were common those days (even today). There were no highways or patrols those days. It is a well known fact that all travelers (traders, etc) used to either carry some...
How about a kirpan? Travel in those days was very dangerous, especially when you are traveling by road through dense forests where thieves and robbers could rob and kill you...Ever wondered if Guru Nanak was attacked by such thieves and robbers....Could Guru Nanak survive without carrying any...
Strongly disagree comparing Guru Nanak with Jesus. Guru Nanak got married and had a family. He traveled all over South Asia to spread his word. Even in his last days, he did hard work (farming). On the contrary, Jesus never got married, nor had family and did not work to raise a family. Not to...
I apologize in advance for not reading all the 60 posts and if my thoughts are repeats of other posts, please ignore my comments.
Guru Nanak had a broader vision of what he had to do in his life time. Before heading out to travel all over South Asia, I am sure he must have discussed this in...
We all know that Guru Nanak spent many years of his life traveling across the South East Asia. Ever wondered what all did he carry with him in all his travels? Please reply to this post by suggesting what items Guru Nanak would have carried in all his travels. Please respond with the item name...
Dear Vaheguru Seekern Ji - Here are my responses:
Well, I am doing my bit by staying outside SGPC...and then there are geographical distances that prevent me from serving the community in India. :)
The term fundamentalist means the same as it meant when this term was coined perhaps hundreds of...
Oh...and by the way, talking about deficiencies and improving....I am not sure if I am open to discuss the deficiencies of Sikhism at all. For me, the Guru's word is the utmost and clearly guides me spiritually and the Rehatnaama tells me how to live life socially.....I am not ready to listen...
That's exactly my point....people call practicing Sikhs as Fundamentalist without knowing the meaning of the word "Fundamentalist".
And instead of asking who are these practicing Khalsa Sikhs, I would ask Who are these deras and their followers what are their true motives....They clearly are...
