Interested to hear what our Muslim brothers and sisters make of the following Gurbani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, please. My notes are in [brackets].

Starting at the end of Panna 140:

Salok mėhlā 1.
Shalok, First Mehl:

Mihar masīṯ siḏak muslā hak halāl kurāṇ.
Let mercy be your mosque, faith your prayer-mat, and honest living your Koran.

Saram sunaṯ sīl rojā hohu musalmāṇ.
Make modesty your circumcision, and good conduct your fast. In this way, you shall be a true Muslim.

Karṇī kābā sacẖ pīr kalmā karam nivāj.
Let good conduct be your Kaabaa, Truth your spiritual guide, and good deeds your prayer and creed. [I've taken 'karma' out of this tuk as it is a mistranslation of 'karam', and changed 'chant' to 'creed' as it is a mistranslation of 'kalma']

Ŧasbī sā ṯis bẖāvsī Nānak rakẖai lāj. ||1||
Let your rosary be that which is pleasing to His Will. O Nanak, God shall preserve your honor. ||1||

Mėhlā 1.
First Mehl

Hak parā▫i▫ā nānkā us sū▫ar us gā▫e.
To take what rightfully belongs to another, is like a Muslim eating pork, or a Hindu eating beef.

Gur pīr hāmā ṯā bẖare jā murḏār na kẖā▫e.
Our Guru, our Spiritual Guide, stands by us, if we do not eat those carcasses. [here, to eat carcasses means to take what rightfully belongs to another]

Galī bẖisaṯ na jā▫ī▫ai cẖẖutai sacẖ kamā▫e.
By mere talk, people do not earn passage to Heaven. Salvation comes only from the practice of Truth.

Māraṇ pāhi harām mėh ho▫e halāl na jā▫e.
By adding spices to forbidden foods, they are not made acceptable.

Nānak galī kūṛī▫ī kūṛo palai pā▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, from false talk, only falsehood is obtained. ||2||

Mėhlā 1.
First Mehl:

Panj nivājā vakẖaṯ panj panjā panje nā▫o.
There are five prayers and five times of day for prayer; the five have five names.

Pahilā sacẖ halāl ḏu▫e ṯījā kẖair kẖuḏā▫e.
Let the first be truthfulness, the second honest living, and the third charity in the Name of God.

Cẖa▫uthī nī▫aṯ rās man panjvī sifaṯ sanā▫e.
Let the fourth be good will to all, and the fifth the praise of the Lord.

Karṇī kalmā ākẖ kai ṯā musalmāṇ saḏā▫e.
Repeat the prayer of good deeds, and then, you may call yourself a Muslim.

Nānak jeṯe kūṛi▫ār kūrhai kūṛī pā▫e. ||3||
O Nanak, the false obtain falsehood, and only falsehood. ||3||

Salok mėhlā 1.
Shalok, First Mehl:

Musalmāṇ kahāvaṇ muskal jā ho▫e ṯā musalmāṇ kahāvai.
It is difficult to be called a Muslim; if one is truly a Muslim, then he may be called one.

Aval a▫ul ḏīn kar miṯẖā maskal mānā māl musāvai.
First, let him savor the religion of the Prophet as sweet; then, let his pride of his possessions be scraped away.

Ho▫e muslim ḏīn muhāṇai maraṇ jīvaṇ kā bẖaram cẖukẖāvai.
Becoming a true Muslim, a disciple of the faith of Mohammed, let him put aside the delusion of death and life.

Rab kī rajā▫e manne sir upar karṯā manne āp gavāvai.
As he submits to God's Will, and surrenders to the Creator, he is rid of selfishness and conceit.

Ŧa▫o Nānak sarab jī▫ā mihramaṯ ho▫e ṯa musalmāṇ kahāvai. ||1||
And when, O Nanak, he is merciful to all beings, only then shall he be called a Muslim. ||1||

And here on Panna 480

Āsā.
Aasaa:

Ham maskīn kẖuḏā▫ī banḏe ṯum rājas man bẖāvai.
I am Your humble servant, Lord; Your Praises are pleasing to my mind.

Alah aval ḏīn ko sāhib jor nahī furmāvai. ||1||
The Lord, the Primal Being, the Master of the poor, does not ordain that they should be oppressed. ||1||

Kājī boli▫ā ban nahī āvai. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O Qazi, it is not right to speak before Him. ||1||Pause||

Rojā ḏẖarai nivāj gujārai kalmā bẖisaṯ na ho▫ī.
Keeping your fasts, reciting your prayers, and reading the Kalma, the Islamic creed, shall not take you to paradise.

Saṯar kābā gẖat hī bẖīṯar je kar jānai ko▫ī. ||2||
The Temple of Mecca is hidden within your mind, if you only knew it. ||2||

Nivāj so▫ī jo ni▫ā▫o bicẖārai kalmā aklahi jānai.
That should be your prayer, to administer justice. Let your Kalma be the knowledge of the unknowable Lord.

Pācẖahu mus muslā bicẖẖāvai ṯab ṯa▫o ḏīn pacẖẖānai. ||3||
Spread your prayer mat by conquering your five desires, and you shall recognize the true religion. ||3||

Kẖasam pacẖẖān ṯaras kar jī▫a mėh mār maṇī kar fīkī.
Recognize Your Lord and Master, and fear Him within your heart; conquer your egotism, and make it worthless.

Āp janā▫e avar ka▫o jānai ṯab ho▫e bẖisaṯ sarīkī. ||4||
As you see yourself, see others as well; only then will you become a partner in heaven. ||4||

Mātī ek bẖekẖ ḏẖar nānā ṯā mėh barahm pacẖẖānā.
The clay is one, but it has taken many forms; I recognize the One Lord within them all.

Kahai kabīrā bẖisaṯ cẖẖod kar ḏojak si▫o man mānā. ||5||4||17||
Says Kabeer, I have abandoned paradise, and reconciled my mind to hell. ||5||4||17||

Gurfateh.

I've always loved this Shabad. Guru ji was addressing Muslims but the message applys to everone of any faith, just substitute the appropriate ritual, Holy Mass for Catholics, Akhand Path for Sikhs, etc. etc.
