    By Gurmukh Singh, Toronto, Jan 29 : A Sikh security guard, who says he was forced to remove his turban and wear a helmet on duty at a Home Depot retail outlet here, has sought 40,000 dollars in compensation from the home furnishing giant.

    The threat by the manager to the employee is harassment. It goes to show the ignorance of the so called civilized world on the importance of the 'Pugh' to the Sikhs. I the WW1 and WW2 the Sikh regiments retained their turbans as it was proved to be more effective than the helmets issued against shrapnel during combat. Unless the management intended to put him in harms way , that is why he was threatened with dismissal.
