Marrying a person of different religion does not render anybody disrespectful, that anyone can come & utter his/her ignorance of ones situation in which one had to make decision to marry a person of the other religion. Let me quote an example of one of my acquaintance here & that too of a Sikh girls ordeal in hands of a Sikh guy. This girl is from a respectable Sikh family of Delhi & got married to a Canada based Sikh guy. After marriage she had to stay back in India to join her husband later on after completing all the necessary paperwork. Once she joined her husband the folks at her husband place started asking her to divorce her husband since she was a permanene resident of Canada by that time. After divorce she should she should marry one of her husband's cousin in India so that he could come to Canada legally & settle since he couild not study due to his bad company at school & then college. Thus was not getting good respectable job as per his so called family status their in India. The lady in turn did divorced the person but not to marry his cousin but in turn she married one of her colleague at her workplace who happened to be a Cristian. He respect her a lot & do his job at night shift & doesn't let her work at night like she used to work when she was with her Sikh husband. How will you react to such situation, could you favour her marriage to a Sikh guy who married her just to get safe entry for one of his cousin who was jobless in India or her respectable marriage to a Cristian? I think its better to stay with a guy who could respect you & your self-respect rahter than a sick mentalitied person of your own religion. Also it is very easy to percieve as you are doing while in India, I also had the similar views until I was India where we are surrounded by majority of people of our own community, Sikh. But come out & see that Sikh guys here are having sick mentality they think girls as commodity & one can't live with a person of sick mentality just for the reason that he is a Sikh.
