I believe the teaching clearly declares that the Creation of the universe came about through a Word, which is to say, a vibration. And as scientists realize more and more, what we perceive as solid mass is really just vibrations, in various frequencies, manifesting sound and shape; just what the Gurus taught many centuries ago.

Having said that, I have to say I'm baffled by the tendency towards professed atheism on this Sikh forum. I'm not mad at atheists, in fact, I rather admire them; I just don't know why they try to reconcile their non-belief with a religious tradition.

Forgive me for being brash, but it seems bizarre to me to take a religious tradition, which is unambiguously 'theistic', and then try to find a place within it for outright non-believers. I love the fact that atheists on this Network are strongly guided by ethical behaviour, truth, and decency etc, devoid of God , but why try to impose those values into a tradition that is through and through religious? There is a group called the Ethical Society whose belief is, I believe, decent, ethical conduct, without 'religious' teachings.
