The patient being admitted with reference of doctor gets 80% commission. The doctors of Private and Government Hospitals those have indoor surgeries make exorbitant money by malpracticing. The patient is being referred to bring the kit for operation. I am providing the example on child birth. When the patient reach to the hospital. The concerned doctor in almost 90% cases will say that the condition of the patient and child is very serious and so we shall have to go for Cesarean option for delivery. The reason of this suggestion is that if the normal delivery is being done then the bill of the hospital will remain 10% so the earnings of the doctors and the hospitals will be wiped out. The doctor will suggest that the Cesarean operation is required, Why? Because the doctor don't waste his/her time in waiting for labor pains. All of a sudden the doctor will suggest about the cesarean operation though the doctor who earns 90% commission in the shape of tests that are being conducted in the laboratories. The next moment doctor put the prescription slip in your hand to bring the kit of medicines. In almost all the cases doctor will not prescribe the medicines but he/she will write kit on the plain paper and this kit will be available in the medical shop of the particular hospital. The medical shop hand over you the kit. That carton of medicines, Gulucose, injenctions will never be opened in the operation theatre. The doctor will provide about two capsules in medicine and put anethesia injection to the patient. The operation will be conducted in say 15-25 minutes. How much medicines and injections a patient can take in this time. Your kit is being returned to the same chemist shop by the doctor who conducted the operation. But the doctor to win your confidence will certainly provide a loose cotton about 100 grams to you and two three tablets and one injection that these medicines have not been consumed. Have you followed the modus operendi. The patient is being robbed in the broad day light but if he knows the fact even then he keep his mouth shut. You have to shell out Rs 40-50 thousand. The doctors expenditure in this smallest operation will not be Rs 3,000 if you count all the expenditures made to you especially. This is the way the medical profession is becoming enriched day by day. I am not talking about obstricians only every doctor used to make money by adopting this phenomenon. The doctor prescribe the medicines of the particular Pharmaceutical company why? Because the company provide handsome gifts to the doctors. These gifts consists of Foreign tours with family to the expensive gifts, ACs and all that. The Chemists used to pay to a hospital not less than Rs 2 Lakh per month. The source of income of the chemists is not by earning from the medicines but to sell the Gerneric medicines. In Generic medicines of multi national companies the margin is 80% to 90%. If we go for the product of the non standard company then you can imagine the margin of profit. In addition to it the kit which goes in and comes out from the operation theatre also gives handsome margin to the doctor and chemist. In this process the chemists and doctor share the amount by 75-25% ratio.

Now go on considering that this is charitable hospital, General Hospital the same mal-practices are being adopted every where.

This is the aspect why the doctors are paying in crores to get appointed.

Rajneesh Madhok
Dear Gyani Jarnail Singhji & Kanwardeepji, Regards, Whether the doctors appointed by the Punjab Govt will be able to diagnose and treat the sick or inured. Whether they are able to provide treatment, examine patients, managing childbirths, handle Outpatients, Handle Emergencies or they are just joining to refer the patients to the private hospitals to earn exorbitant commission which is running in Punjab @ 80%. This is the aspect why the doctors are paying in crores to get appointed. Rajneesh Madhok
