Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
As per
Sikh tradition, we should tie a turban and not wear a Cap.
I heard somewhere,
hoe
Sikh sir ttopee dhharai || saath janam kushattee hue marai ||
He who as a
Sikh places a hat on their head; will be reborn seven times as a leper.
But, then there are so many other things that we should not be doing,
for instance, one of them is, as per some
Sikh saints, Trimming and tying the beard are the same. So keep the beard open and flowing is
Sikh Maryada, not possible for most sikhs today due to jobs and living outside India.
I am also very confused, as
Sikhism doesn't teach us hating or disliking anyone, and its not a harsh and strict religion.
Most of my friends wear Caps, I dont hate them, but these things look small, 50 yrs from now, Topi may become more popular than the Turban.
Like everywhere else , in
Sikhism also, there is discipline and code of conduct, and if we wish to be Guru ke Pyaare, the Turban is a gift by Guru Gobind Singh JI to all the sikhs, we keep the Gifts from our friends and relatives with such care, and don't care at all for such a beautiful gift from the Guru, who is ang-sang sahai all the times everywhere.
Finally, Someone who has beard and wear a turban is not always a
Sikh.
Turban is not the only thing that makes you a
Sikh, there are rules and principles to be followed.
Above all is to read Gurbaani and understand for yourself what Guru Ji is telling us, and then we will have no doubt what so ever.
Bhul chuk maaf
