Its just my style...am an old man and find it difficult to chnage as I write off the cuff 99.9%..and am always in a hurry..so please forgive...i havent shouted ever in my entire life..and wont ever..as My Guru instructs me..Mitth bollrra ji har sajjan mera...i try to follow that.. apologies again...(if it offends you ) Jios. GGS is short form for Guru Gobind Singh ji Sahib...I dont beleive in that notiuon that referring to Guru Ji as just GGS makes him any smaller or adding a dozen prefixes and affixes ( like some do as..Sahibeh Kamaal, bazaan Wallah Sipah Salaar, Chittian ghorrian wallh kalghidhar pita amrit da data and etcv etc makes him any bigger. Not that i never use those...sometimes in my ardass i get very emotional and keep on adding these as they coem to mind...and the ardass becomes longer and longer..annoying some...but i dont do it that often...Some people are very touchy about short forms..AGGS..Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji..GGS..GN..WJKK WJKF etc..and think that is demeaning..?? no i dont. | | | | | Re: Rarest Coin of 1804 with Pic of Shree Guru Nanak Dev ji Looking at the Images Sarangi ji posted..its the Exact SAME face on BOTH isdes...the SEHLI TOPI is so visible....and its clear to me its GURU NANAK JI Sahib on BOTH sides.
Guru Gobind Singh ji never wore such headgear...the sehli topi was discarded during Hargobind Sahib jis time ..( if it ever was even worn by any Guru sahibs as contradicts Gurbani) | | The following member appreciates Gyani Jarnail Singh Ji for the above message. | |

| | | | | Re: Rarest Coin of 1804 with Pic of Shree Guru Nanak Dev ji It is a nice theory that if the coin don't please any body then he may create his own story that this is not a coin. This coin has never been matched by anyone or else. One should study the shape and style of coin. As this coin put certain set back due to certain reasons then the stories are being developed that this coin is not a minted coin during Sikh Misl period and that of Sikh Raj. The Sikh Empire collapsed in 1849 due to intigue and deception by the dogras on one hand and infighting of the Royal family on the other. The Britishers had replaced Sikh monetry system. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=36656
Now the Learned friends will again raise hue and cry that how you know that 1849 was calender year of which era. After the discussion which the Ld friends try to convince to each other that the language on the mint coins may be in Urdu, persian, punjabi but if it is in Hindi then the stories should be created to convince one and other.
So, I don't like to make confrontation on petty issue. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=36656

| | | | | Re: Rarest Coin of 1804 with Pic of Shree Guru Nanak Dev ji If this discussion is to continue, we all need to be patient with others. So far rajneesh ji has provided information and backup for his point of view. I do not think there is a need to put him on the defensive as the original article was nothing more than an information piece, and in no way an attempt to undermine the principles of Sikhi. Coin collectors argue about these issues as a matter of their calling, just as is happening here. So there is no need to get personal whenever we disagree. This is not a political debate. Until a seasoned collector joins this discussion then we are all engaging in speculation. I must add that Gyani ji's comments deserve additional consideration. | | The following members appreciate spnadmin Ji for the above message. | |
