There are many versions of Ramayana, Mahabharta prevalent in Punjabi in Gurmukhi script and which are read by both Hindus and Sikhs alike. The division of Punjabi firstly in 1947 and in 1966 later was on political basis and not on linguistic basis as Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs continue to share this glorious language even now and will continue to do this, which is be a tight slap on the face of politicians who are out to thrive by dividing this great Punjabi community. The need, therefore, is to educate Punjabi of the common heritage of their language and Gurmukhi Script, as has been very beautifully illustrated in the above posts.
The article presented here in the above post is very illuminating and educative. All the Punjabis must feel proud of our glorious heritage in Punjabi language and Gurmukhi Script. Gurmukhi Script need not be confused with Sikh Gurus. Sikh Gurus are the protaganists of this wonderful script. Punjabi was, is and will continue to be the link language of all Punjabis be they Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs, as we have a common heritage. I congratulate SPN for this wonderful media offered by it. animatedkhanda1
