Adminji, Allow me to clarify my own position, I am not trying to change anyone elses perception of the word, but for some reason, the meaning I hold dear resonates with me. In my view gravity is a Hukam, so yes, it was there before I was born, etc etc. Now gravity is an absolute but it is also not an absolute, ie, on the moon, it does not exist, but sticking back to earth, I cannot defy gravity, I can try though, I can stuff so many drugs down me that I could convince myself I could fly, I could climb to the highest building I could find, and soar into the air like a big flying thingy, however, as we both know, I would fall and splat, I would be dead, that is how I view Hukam. Maybe I have an odd brain, but things scream at me all the time, if I were about to jump off said building, I can guarantee there would be a part of me screaming inside, 'Harry, you can't fly, your going to kill yourself', I find the truth screams at me constantly, I also find the truth consistent with Hukam, ie Hukam is truth, every time I have gone off the rails, it was not because I thought it was ok, I knew it was bad, I knew it was wrong, I knew this because of the screaming, maybe I am in a minority having done lots of bad things, thus, maybe I am more familiar with the screaming, maybe those that have lived good lives know not of the screaming, His will, well, I think his will is for us to do the right thing, help the helpless, be compassionate, be merciful, kind, loving, and that is not always easy, but just as gravity is gravity, I think to be kind and loving is a truth, I guess I feel the way of the Gurmukh is to be following that way, and that to me is to be in Hukam. In real terms how do we do this? How do we turn our face to the Guru, how are we open to grace, how do wwe focus on the jyot? well, in my view by doing the right thing, by living the truth, from giving the correct change, to helping another change a tyre, to showing love to Creation, to not ogling women, to not caring what car you drive, to not living your life to make others jealous, all of which I believe is showing respect and being guided by gravity and its associates. Also, please let me clarify, I am not, and have never intimated I am a scholar, or an academic, I astound myself that everything I have picked up from the game of life seems to gell so well with the teachings of Sikhism, if I am wrong here, I do not mean to confuse or influence others, I will cease using the word Hukam if my own interpretation is missing the mark. :kudihug:
