Moreover there was stronger representation as the attackers did not enjoy full support from the rulers. In case of 1984, the news spread as "Rioters Killed". This was even fuelled by hate speeches and at that time Doordarshan was the only TV channel and people were misguided to believe that the innocent victims were the actual rioters. Do not feel that Indians have abandoned Sikhs. We are with the innocent victims. Let me see the extent to which my effort of building a strong confederation of lawyers contributes to justice. It is a great shame on the so called law upholders and Indians as a whole that justice is denied even after 25 years. All I wish to convey to the legal forums and to the ruling class is that their brutal killings in 1984 is not just a problem of Sikhs but it was the henious massacre of defenceless Indian common men as a whole. I do not support or justify the shameful delay of 25 years but condemn it with a realization that common men are not entitled to quick justice in this country. Any strong representation made by any individual Sikh may get him the label "Fanatic" by those in power and people may be made to believe so. Same would be the case with any Hindu, Muslim or Christian. Any common man in India can be made a fanatic. We need to strengthen our representation and for that we would need the awakening of the nation to the facts. I am sure that majority of the non-sikhs will support our call for justice if they are approached with the right message. May the justice prevail with the blessings of the almighty.
Ajmer Singhji, None of those deserve a Bharat Ratna. I would like to again point at the information misrepresentation menace here. In case of Kerala, the justice was quick as the news spread conveying the message of innocent hindu fishermen being attacked. Thanks to more responsible media of 2002.
