The Guru Khalsa Panth has truly lost a Great Son. Sardar Amir Singh Ji was a One-man walking Parcharak of Sikhism...a virtual INSTITUTION in the field of Kirtan Recording and Parchaar at cost/free as well. Now with the advent of the Internet and satelite tv and all we have so much kirtan that we cant make enough time...BUT in those days the Tapes of Kirtan available from Gurdwara Katong were the ONLY source of good kirtan tapes...and Amir Singh Ji was doing all this hard work as SEVA only. I met him for the first time when I visited Sri Guru nanak Satsang Sabha Gurdwara in Katong Singapore when i received a Singapore Govt Scholarship to study for the B.Ed in Singapore Teaching College...in the early 1970's. I had heard of his vast collection of Kirtan Recordings...and he turned out to be such a humble soft spoken man. While at the Guru nanak Satsang Sabha Office Amir Singh ji also introduced me to a person who was the "publisher" of countless pamphlets on Gurmatt..a true Missionary..doing selfless service to the spread of Gurmatt. Ardass at Guru Jis Charankamals...that this sevak of His be granted final resting place at His Feet in Sachkhand and his family have the strength and resolve to carry on this great legacy of seva. May Guur Ji Bless Us all...Gurfateh.
