Respected SPN'ers, Many thanks for sharing the links below. We all know that Gurbaani enshrined in the Guru Granth Sahib tells us daily that the Almighty God pervades everywhere and thus the Said Highest and Supreme Authority can't be housed in any one place. the same messages was conveyed when at Mecca, Guru Nanak Sahib requested the Qazi that he was free to turn his feet to that direction where God is not present. For me, Guru Granth Sahib is the Supreme Sikh Scripture, the Highest Authority and Darbaar Sahib where from we attain Divine Enlightenment for leading the Truthful Life by performing the righteous deeds in life. Moreover, all the Sikhs are equal - none high or low. Accordingly, Akaal Takht Sahib and other Takhts have no super power except to propagate the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib. Hence, these places should be considered as the Historical Gurduaras only and the persons, who manage these places should be treated like any other employee or volunteer just as Bhai, Granthi, Raagi, Kathaakaar. The socalled Jathedaars or Head Ministers should not be given any importance as they have no legal and religious authority to summon any other Sikh or take action. Such a power is not even vested with any King/Queen/President/ Prime Minister/Dictator? Gurbaani also advises us: "Neither frighten anyone nor be afraid of anyone"! Hence, let us continue to obey and follow the Guru Granth Sahib from pages 1 to 1429, and don't care for any person(s). Gurmit Singh (Australia)
