1947 is just not a story but the milestone of my life. it has hurt my inner being unabashedly. It has increased my longings to get back to my lost land; partition has created a big question in my life as well. I always question as to what wrong I had done at such an early age to face this and the long arduous life thereafter since no one else would answer. I lived the life of a wanderer thereafter and have tried to stabilise now when I am over 70 and not before! It may be called a communal, political or personal egos of some behind this all but the incalculable damage they have caused to the large number of people is incurable. I will only call this as mad communal attitudes or destructive and in humanistic political aims. This is not stopping incidentally. Recently the atrocities caused by ISIS are much more on the name of 'war of civilisations'. The hegemonic interests of certain people push certain groups to become incredibly inhuman to revenge; allowing over-egoistic persons to take control; resulting in devastating situations. How long will it continue? Can it be stopped? It remains a big question mark. I can only sympathise with the people affected of these blind and ruthless killings and displacements. I can hear their cries of pain in my heart; feeling helpless; unable to do any thing practically. Humanity appears to be dying; being killed by those who claim to be the protectors of freedom and humanity. Dr Dalvinder Singh Grewal
