ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥
Salok.
Salok (Core theme of eight sabads/hymns in the Astpadi)

ਪੂਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
Pūrā parabẖ ārāḏẖi▫ā pūrā jā kā nā▫o. Nānak pūrā pā▫i▫ā pūre ke gun gā▫o. ||1||
Complete creator contemplated, complete so is known. Nanak, found the complete one, sing virtues of so complete.

ਅਸਟਪਦੀ॥
Asatpaḏī.
Eight stanzas hymn

ਸਰਨਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਏ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Saran jog sun sarnī ā▫e. Kar kirpā parabẖ āp milā▫e.
Hearing that such was capable to give refuge, so come to seek refuge. Through blessing creator so self endears.

ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਬੈਰ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਰੇਨ ॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਲੈਨ ॥
Mit ga▫e bair bẖa▫e sabẖ ren. Amriṯ nām sāḏẖsang lain.
Animosity erased, became dust at the feet of all. Purest understanding of the creator so contemplated in company of the pious.

ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥
Suparsan bẖa▫e gurḏev. Pūran ho▫ī sevak kī sev.
Creator like persona so enthralled. Complete is service of the humble servant.

ਆਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਤੇ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਹਤੇ ॥
Āl janjāl bikār ṯe rahṯe. Rām nām sun rasnā kahṯe.
So saved from entanglements of home and the ill activities. Tongue so speaks of the creator.

ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਬਹੀ ਖੇਪ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
Kar parsāḏ ḏa▫i▫ā parabẖ ḏẖārī. Nānak nibhī kẖep hamārī. ||4||
Through blessing the creator has shown benevolence. Nanak, my laden merchandise has been so accepted.

Quote:

ESSENCE: In the salok of final Astpadi 24th, Guru ji state the completeness of creator. So finding the complete one in contemplation, now to sing virtues of such complete one.

Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 24, 4th sabad discuss the creator’s endearment as one so seeks refuge. Animosities are erased and instead the contemplation of pure understanding happens. It almost feels as though the creature shows pleasure in this and the humble service of the servant is so accepted. One speaks of the creator and all entanglements and ill deeds fall by the way side.

Guru ji conclude that the benevolent creator has blessed and the deeds of effort have been accepted.
