Salok.
Salok (Core theme of eight sabads/hymns in the Astpadi)

Sargun nirgun nirankār sunn samāḏẖī āp. Āpan kī▫ā nānkā āpe hī fir jāp. ||1||
By self the formless one is with worldly entanglements, without such and by self in voided contemplation. Nanak, so self created and such so seeks understanding.

Asatpaḏī.
Eight stanzas hymn

Jah nirmal purakẖ purakẖ paṯ hoṯā. Ŧah bin mail kahhu ki▫ā ḏẖoṯā.
In the purist disposition that the custodian of living was. There without dirt, say what was to be washed.

Jah niranjan nirankār nirbān. Ŧah ka▫un ka▫o mān ka▫un abẖimān.
As without entanglements, without form, without craving. There who had pride, who had ego.

Jah sarūp keval jagḏīs. Ŧah cẖẖal cẖẖiḏar lagaṯ kaho kīs.
Where only the creator was the persona. Say who would have become cheater or addictive.

Jah joṯ sarūpī joṯ sang samāvai. Ŧah kisėh bẖūkẖ kavan ṯaripṯāvai.
When the light embodied was immersed with own light. Then who would be hungry and who would be satisfied.

Karan karāvan karnaihār. Nānak karṯe kā nāhi sumār. ||4||
Creator does and so gets done. Nanak, creator can not be estimated.
Quote:
ESSENCE: In the salok, Guru ji state describe the duality of the creator with worldly and without worldly interactions. One that has created all but still seeks the understanding.

Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 21, 4th sabad describe when all was creator and nothing else, what was the value of some beliefs or logical deductions so popular. When there was only pure creator, what dirt needed to be washed; when having no entanglements, what pride and ego to talk about; when only creator as persona, who could be called a cheater or failing in addictions; when all of light and embodied with light, who could be not provided and so provided.

Guru ji conclude that all to get done and doing is the creator and such can not be defined in limits or estimations.
Please note all errors are mine and I stand corrected.

Sat Sri Akal.
