| |  | | | Sukhmani Sahib Astpadi 7 Sabad 7 / ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ੭ ਸਬਦ ੭
ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ Salok. Salok ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ Agam agāḏẖ pārbarahm so▫e. Jo jo kahai so mukṯā ho▫e. The supreme creator is beyond reproach and infinite. Those who revere, such are salvaged. ਸੁਨਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਾ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਅਚਰਜ ਕਥਾ ॥੧॥ Sun mīṯā Nānak binvanṯā. Sāḏẖ janā kī acẖraj kathā. ||1|| Listen friend, Nanak is praying. Pious people have uniquely different style. ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥ Asatpaḏī. Eight stanzas hymn ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਨਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥ Sāḏẖ kai sang sun▫o har nā▫o. Sāḏẖsang har ke gun gā▫o. In the company of the pious, listen about the creator. With the pious sing virtues of the creator. ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰੈ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਰਪਰ ਨਿਸਤਰੈ ॥ Sāḏẖ kai sang na man ṯe bisrai. Sāḏẖsang sarpar nisṯarai. In the company of the pious, such is not forgotten. With the pious, one for sure succeeds. ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਗੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੀਠਾ ॥ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਡੀਠਾ ॥ Sāḏẖ kai sang lagai parabẖ mīṯẖā. Sāḏẖū kai sang gẖat gẖat dīṯẖā. In the company of the pious, the creator feels sweet. With the pious one, such is seen in all bodies.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਏ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥ Sāḏẖsang bẖa▫e āgi▫ākārī. Sāḏẖsang gaṯ bẖa▫ī hamārī. With the pious, one becomes obedient to the creator. With the pious, our spirituality is uplifted. ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧ ਭੇਟੇ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੭॥ Sāḏẖ kai sang mite sabẖ rog. Nānak sāḏẖ bẖete sanjog. ||7|| In the company of the pious, all that ails dissipates. Nanak, with good fortune you meet the pious. Quote: ESSENCE: In the salok, Guru ji state the infiniteness of the creator and enormous value in of knowing so for salvation. Guru ji find the company and the virtues of the pious as being with the likeness of creator.
Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 7, 7th stanza describe the positive impacts of the company of the pious. One listens of the creator, one contemplates on the creator, one successfully becomes always aware, one sees of the creator everywhere in sweetness, one’s spirituality is uplifted and humble commitment confirmed.
Guru ji conclude that much that ails dissipates, it is but good fortune to meet the pious. | Please note all errors are mine and I stand corrected.
