Ḏenhār parabẖ cẖẖod kai lāgėh ān su▫ā▫e. Nānak kahū na sījẖ▫ī bin nāvai paṯ jā▫e. ||1||
Leaving the creator that bestows, is busy in other selfishness. Nanak, such can never achieve success as without the creator there is no honor.

Asatpaḏī.
Eight stanzas hymn

Mithi▫ā sarvan par ninḏā sunėh. Mithi▫ā hasaṯ par ḏarab ka▫o hirėh.
Useless are the ears that listen to demeaning of others. Useless are the hands that steal others wealth.

Mithi▫ā neṯar pekẖaṯ par ṯari▫a rūpāḏ. Mithi▫ā rasnā bẖojan an savāḏ.
Useless are eyes that look to beauty of others wife. Useless is the tongue that relishes great food delicacies.

Mithi▫ā cẖaran par bikār ka▫o ḏẖāvėh. Mithi▫ā man par lobẖ lubẖāvėh.
Useless are feet running to do harm to others. Useless is the mind that is jealous of others things of jealousy.

Mithi▫ā ṯan nahī par▫upkārā. Mithi▫ā bās leṯ bikārā.
Useless is the body that does not do good to others. Useless is smelling of worthless pursuits.

Bin būjẖe mithi▫ā sabẖ bẖa▫e. Safal ḏeh Nānak har har nām la▫e. ||5||
Without understanding, all such is false. Nanak, a body succeeds that seeks the creator’s understanding.
Quote:
ESSENCE: In the salok, Guru ji state that ones busy collecting worldly goods should reflect. The accomplishments are incomplete without honor. The honor is there in association of one with the creator in all.

Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 5, 5th sabad cite that the ears, the hands, the eyes, the mouth, the feet and the mind if such are engaged in demeaning others, the chasing of false and worthless pursuits. The true use is to do good to self and others while recognizing the creator and creator’s understanding.
Please note all errors are mine and I stand corrected.

Sat Sri Akal.

Sat Sri Akaal,

What appears good to self,
is good in reality or with one's imagination.

Like the negative talk appears sweat to ears
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/sukhmani-sahib/37883-sukhmani-sahib-astpadi-5-sabad-5-a.html
But this is false imaging created by mind

One's mind reflect's negative of other's
And mind feel's exalted
This is happening of non progressive mind.

Progressive mind with good efforts has praise of others
While sluggish mind has negative of others to feel exalted
So one discussing negative of other's may be trying to hide one's own negative

Thiefs, crrokedness is all due to training/learning of mind.

Beauty of other's wife/husband is also one's imagination only,
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=37883
in reality all relation has positive and negative aspects.

But in imagination all other progressive man/woman appears sweat to one's mind.
It is also sign of ignorant mind, unrealistic mind.

So the other events like taste and so on

"GURU's BANI" breaks the veil of imagination,
and
gives the power to mind to distinguish
"imagination" and "reality"
to enjoy bliss in "reality" and not only in "imagination"

"GURU's BANI" gives way of life
and
"SUKH" in reality
not in "IMAGINATION"
