ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 4 ਜੁਲਾਈ-ਅਮਰੀਕਾ, ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਯੋਧੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਮੱਲੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ। ਵੈਸੇ ਤਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਣ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਸੂਰਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਵੀ ਵਰਨਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ। Although the numerical strength of Punjabi and SIKH Officers in the Western nations Armed Forces is considerable..even when we consider the Dastarrdharee amrtidharees also their numbers are significant.

ਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਥਿਆੜਾ-ਲੰਡਨ ਮੈਟਰੋ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ 21 ਸਾਲਾ ਨੌਜੁਆਨ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸੈਂਟਰਲ ਲੰਦਨ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੱਥ 'ਚ ਡੰਡਾ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਗੋਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਕਸਰ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਡਵਿਡਾ ਅਹਿਰਾਣਾ ਦੇ ਰੈਵ ਥਿਆੜਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਬੜਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ। Ravinder Singh Thiarra is 21 years old dastardharee sardar on the London metro Security Force. Ravinder hails form Village Davinda of Hoshiarpur and he really loves his dastaar.

ਕੈਪਟਨ ਮਕੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ- ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਇਜ਼ਨ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਮਕੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਹਿਜ਼ 18 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸ. ਬਲਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਨ। ਮਕੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੋਂ 8 ਜਮਾਤਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਉਸਨੇ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਕਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੇਵਾ ਤਗਮੇ ਲੈ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ।Capt Mukand Singh of the British Armed Forces is a Lines Officer and joined the British Army at age 18. His fatehr S. baldev Singh was also a Britsh Army officer and Mukand Singh came to UK after completing std 8th class and continued his eductaion in the UK. he ahs been awarded several medals of honour.

ਰਣਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨਿੱਝਰ-ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਰਣਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਸਪੈਸ਼ਲਿਸਟ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨਿੱਝਰਾਂ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਰਣਬੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੀ 315 ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰ ਰੈਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਕੈਲੇਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ 160 ਏਕੜ ਦਾ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ਼ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਹਿਜ਼ 19 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਹਰਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਗਿੱਲ-ਉਹ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਸੈਕਿੰਡ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਔਰਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੀ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਬਣੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ 80 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਕੌਰ ਗਿੱਲ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਆਈ ਸੀ। 5 ਫੁੱਟ 6 ਇੰਚ ਲੰਬੀ ਇਹ ਸਰਦਾਰਨੀ 20 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਲ 2001 ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। Ranbir kaur is Gill is a Lieut in the USA Armed Forces and she is the First Punjabi, First Sikh woman Officer in the USA Air Force. In the 1980s she came to USA with her father Tara Singh Gill and mother Nirdosh kaur Gill. This 5ft 6 inch tall Punjabi lass joined the USA Air Force at age 20 in 2001.

He fought a long and ardous battle to retain hsi DASTAAR in the Army. he is a Medical Doctor. His Grandfatrehr and Fatehr are both officers in the Indian Armed Forces and Great Grandfatehr was in the British Indian Army.

ਤੇਜ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਤਨ-ਐਮ.ਬੀ.ਏ. ਪਾਸ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ 2006 ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ 'ਚ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਪੁੱਜ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਰਤਨ ਇਸ ਵਕਤ ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਦੇ ਫੋਰਟਡਰਮ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਵਿਚ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। Tejdeep Singh Rattam MBA is a dental surgeon in the USA Armed Forces. He is now capt and serving in the NY Rotterdam Unit of the USArmy as a Specialist Dental Surgeon.

ਸਿਮਰਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਾਂਬਾ-ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਸਪੈਸ਼ਲਿਸਟ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਲਾਂਬਾ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦਾ ਜੰਮਪਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ 2009 ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ 'ਮਾਵਨੀ' ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਕਈ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸਿਖਲਾਈਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਸਾਬਤ ਸੂਰਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ। ਇਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕਮਾਂਡੋ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਾੜ੍ਹੀ ਲਈ ਜੈੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਛੋਟੀ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਪਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਾਸਕ ਪਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਦਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਤਿਆਗਣੇ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ। Simarnapreet Singh Lamba Delhi born Dastardharee Sikh is a Specilaist Unit Officer and when he joined the USA Armed Forces in 2009 he was still an alien. He joined the Army under the Maavni Act. He went through some really tough training sessions and remained sabart soorat all through. In a very special Mission on Commando unit session he put on a gel on hsi beard and a small patka on his head and wore the special Mask provided to show that it cna be done if theres a will and a way and Sikh rleigious symbols of dastaar beard etc need not be compromised at all.

ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ-ਉਹ ਹਥਿਆਰਬੰਦ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਗਰੀਕਲਚਰ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਤੋਂ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਨਦੀਪ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਪੀ.ਐਚ.ਡੀ. ਕਰਨ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉੱਥੇ 2005 ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਚੁਣੀ ਗਈ। Mandeep kaur is in the British Armed Forces weapons unit. She is a serving Granthi (Chaplain). She ahs a Degree from PAU Ludhiana and Engineering Degree and a PHD in UK and joined the army in 2005.

ਕੈਪਟਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਨੋਆ-ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ 7 ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਦਾ ਜੰਮਪਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿਚ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਿਵਿਲ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਵੀ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਈ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਅਬ-ਦਾਬ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। Capt Prabhjyot Singh is serving the CANADIAN ARMED FORCES since 7 years ago. He is from hoshiarpur and studied Engineering in Chandigarh and he ahs taken part in several missions for the Canadian Army.

ਲੈਫ. ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੱਤਲਾ-ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਵਾਂ ਬੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਧੋਥੜ ਪਿੰਡ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੱਤਲਾ ਸਾਲ 2003 ਵਿਚ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਪੁੱਜਿਆ ਹੈ। 35 ਸਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਪਰਫੀਲਡ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰ ਹੈ। ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਕਾਲਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਗਰੀਕਲਚਰ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ 1999 ਵਿਚ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਾਦਾ ਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵਰਮਾ ਦੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪੜਦਾਦਾ ਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। Lieut Jasvir Singh Tatla form Ludhiana Sidhvan Bet village village Dhodhaarr went to canada in 2003 and became a Lieut. 35 yaer old Jasvir is a superfield Egineer and a graduate of the GURU NANAK ENGINEERING COLLEGE LUDHIANA and post grad of PAU ludhiana. he went to canada in 1999 and his grandfather Mall Singh fought in the Burma Campaign and Great Grandfather Inder Singh took part in the First World war.

ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਫ਼ੌਜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਣੀ ਐਲਿਜ਼ਾਬੈੱਥ ਦੂਜੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਾਰਦ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੋਂ 26 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿਮ ਰਾਇਲ ਸਿਗਨਲ ਰੈਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਂਸ ਕੋਰਪਲ ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ (28) ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਆਰਮੀ ਏਅਰਕੋਰਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਲੰਡਨ ਟਾਵਰ 'ਤੇ ਜੜੇ ਬੇਸ਼ਕੀਮਤੀ ਗਹਿਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਮਾ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਜੰਮਪਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਲ 2000 ਵਿਚ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। 4 ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਨਿਭਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ।
26 year old Simaranjit Singh of the Royal Signal Regiment and Lance Corp Sarabjit Singh age 28 of the Britsh Army Air Corp are the two Gurads of the British Royal family at Birmimgham Palace. They also guard the London Tpower which hosues the Crown jewels of UK. Sarabjit is India Born and went to UK in 2000. He has also served the Bi=ritish armed forces in Afghnaistan as well.

ਕਰਨਲ ਅਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੇਖੋਂ, ਕਰਨਲ ਜੀ.ਬੀ. ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਤਿੰਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਾਬਤ ਸੂਰਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਹੁਣੇ ਹੁਣੇ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਚੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਖਾੜੀ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ 700 ਗੋਰੇ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਟਾਲੀਅਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਸੇਖੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੈਡਲ, ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਪਤੀ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਮੈਡਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਮੀ ਫਲਾਈਟ ਸਰਜਨ ਤਮਗ਼ਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਕਰਨਲ ਜੀ.ਬੀ. ਸਿੰਘ 1979 ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਡਾਕਟਰੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਖੇਤਰ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਤਮਗ਼ਾ ''ਏ-ਪ੍ਰੀ-ਫਿਕਸ'' ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦਕਿ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਟ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੈਡਲ ਵੀ ਮਿਲ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਕਰਨਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ 1976 ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਪੈਰਾਸ਼ੂਟ ਆਰਮੀ ਸਪੈਸ਼ਲ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦੇ ਬਟਾਲੀਅਨ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ 800 ਗੋਰੇ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਧੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਬਦਲੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਟ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੈਡਲ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸਿਲਵਰ ਓਕ ਲੀਫ਼ ਕਲਸਟਰ ਐਵਾਰਡ ਮਿਲ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੀ ਰਾਖਵੀਂ ਕਮਾਂਡ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ। Col AJINDER SINGH SEKHON, COL G.B. SINGH and Col GOPAL SINGH KHALSA are three fully dastardharee Amrtidharee SIKHS who have just retired form the Americvan Armed Forces. In the GULF WAR Col Sekhon commanded 700 soldiers and earned a special Medal of Honour, Presidents Medal of Honour and Army Flight Surgeon Medal. Col GB Singh joined the US Army in 1979 as a Medical Officer and earned the highest Award A-P-FIX and also a special medal for excellent service in the Korean Peninsula. Col Gopal Singh Khalsa joined the US Army in 1976 and commanded the Parachute Division as battalion Commander. He has been awarded several medals Silver oak leaf Cluster Award, Special Honour Award, and he is now in the RESERVE FORCES.

This is in relation to the news a few days ago of a Gallant Sikh in the US Armed Forces who became a martyr in the war for Peace in Afghanistan and the First Sikh to be buried in Arlington Cemetery who is the reason for the very FIRST KHANDA ever on a Gravestone in Arlington. Hope it INSPIRES SIKHS to KEEP their sabat Soorat DASTAAR DHAREE KESHADHAREE SROOP as these gallant Sikh sardars and KAURS have showed. The Sabat soorat is NOT a hindrance to any achievement in any way...except to those who are self deluded in this way. the Kakaars never hinder...they are a GIFT from our Guru. IF we cannot keep them..declare that as ones PERSONAL CHOICE..and not blame them as a hindrance...so that OTHERS who want to keep them intact shouldnt have to face discrimination.

It could be due to some problem on our host server. Other day I too struggled to upload the classical gurbani kertan of Bhai Nirmal Singh by lot of ways but failed. Spnadmin jee, pl check with host server people for uploading errors.

Gyaniji it is not as much about Hindrance but about real issues faced by people. Some have been in genuine trouble. And being not fastened to their faith, the knot loosens and opens up. Even a pot of clay, until not sun dried, is kachchi and susceptible to total breakdown.

The other thing is if you try joining an organization (maybe Air Force where they need you to wear helmet and ASK you to go crew cut) and you refuse to give up your Hair. They might say one Sikh has already done that and 'joined' them. So since they have seen one person 'compromising' (be it hindrance or personal choice), they would rather have another person who would compromise for them.

Thats the problem kanwaljit ji...when ONE Mona (just as an example) says he is a SIKH and its quite OK to have a crew cut/shaved chin...then he creates problems for the enxt Sikh who is not of the same opinion...its better for the "sikh" who cannot adhere to the Sikh Code to just stay away from asserting falsely that he is just as much sikh as the keshadharee one....

Over here I severely admonished a Sikh who told his Commanding Officer that its not compulsory to go to Gurdwara on Sunday (becasue he felt like sleeping ) So when the next SIKH wnated to be transported to Gurdwara s was his RIGHT as per Army regulations, his commanding Officer tried to persuade him to not go..as he presumed its not compulsory and after all he is only 1 and the Gurdwara is far away..while the majority are msulims who already gone on Friday Prayers..and the Transport driver wants to rest....thus that one lazy Sikh helped in the deprivation of the Rights of another sikh..i call this hindrance. IF the Genuine SIKH really wants his rights he has to struggle harder just because one other lazy sikh is not that into sikhi...

May I ask a simple question? How many Sardars are inducted and given frontline combat role?
It looks to me most of them are in support division.

is the support role any less significant ?? Considering the tiny number..one sardar was Commander of a Battalion in the Gulf War....imho its the service that counts..not what you do...docs also die from wounds in Battle just as much as front line soldiers...and the Doc too has to be equally bRAVE. So i dont see any difference...even a GRANTHI in the army is BRAVE as he also goes to battle !!
