Tension prevailed in the Model Town extension area after around 100 armed men of Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj Damdma Sahib and an equal number of followers of Dera Sat Kertar Das Ji locked horns over the performing of Sikh rituals at the dera late last evening.

One person sustained injuries after both groups pelted each other with stones. Sensing trouble, a heavy posse of police was deployed in the area.
Jaswinder Singh, head sewadar of the dera, said they, along with followers of Baba Shri Chand, had organised an akhand path of Guru Granth Sahib at the dera, to which Sikh organisations objected. He said they had got a formal permission for holding the akhand path from Akal Takht.

Sikh organisations, however, objected to the akhand path at the dera, which is situated on the roadside. The police effected a compromise between the two groups and it was decided that the akhand path would be held at Gurdwara Singh Sabha at Model Town extension.

This is the second such incident in the past three months. On May 24, around 20 armed men of Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj Damdma Sahib had attacked around 80 disciples of Dera Sacha Sauda at Sat Guru Nagar in the Shimlapuri area, leaving 12 injured.

It is true that this deredar obtained permission to hold Akhand Path Sahib at his dera from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.And as Giani Gurbachan Singh is away on his foreign jaunt,Giani Iqbal Singh ,the maverick Jathedar has given "clean chit" to this dera despite the fact that there was a holy fire(dhoona) going on at this dera,and the pictures and idols as promised earlier were not removed. This pakhandi baba had the promised several times before to abide by the sikh rehat maryada only to violate it later on.The baba's goons had the audacity to seriously injure an amritdhari sikh Bhai Arvinder Singh Khalsa ,who was heading home after closing his shop and had just stopped to see what the hubbub was about.

This manmat is openly encoraged by our so called religious leaders who are only too happy to ignore their responsibilities to the sikh panth and the Shabad Guru so that they can please their political masters.These new mahants are blaming the dedicated sikhs for protecting and safeguarding the dignity of the Sikhs and for making sure that the Gurmat Principals are seldom violated. May God give them su-matt.

To add to you report Veer Satnam jeo,
In Ludhiana, when some Gursikhs were protesting to the ongoing Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji jee inside a Shani Mandir Complex, the managers at Shani Mandir produced the letter of approval to hold Akhand Path form the great Jathedar Sahib of our Akal Takhat inside their premises. Shame on double standerds to the Managers of our Panth and its shrines.

It is quite obvious that our Jathefdars are working against the interests of Sikhism and Sikhs.Giving permission for Akhand Path to be held at these places of Ghor Manmat is baffling but for sikhs who closely monitor the state of affairs at these deras and are ready to confront any indignities to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji even at the risks of their lives,to be chided by these wile, well-fed (manas Khane) priests is truly perturbing.

For your information,the panthic organisations gathered at a Gurdwara Sahib in Harnam Nagar Ludhiana and declared Giani Iqbal Singh to be the second deradar. These organisations are:Gursikh Family Club,Shiromani Tat Khalsa,Shan-e-Khalsa,Gurmat Parchar Sabha,Guru Ramdas Sewa Society,Sikh Naujawan Bhalaee Manch,Guru Amardas Sabha and Guru Hargobind Sewa Society.
Dr. Roopinder Singh, a spokesman for these panthic organisations said thet Giani Iqbal Singh should first reflect on his wanton dereliction of the sikh rehat maryada at the takhats he represents,before shooting off his mouth .IqbalSingh is running a dera himself so his so his support for another deradar is quite natural.

Bhai Jarnail Singh of Shireomani Tat Khalsa said that this priest Iqbal Singh has creared new history by openly siding with anti-sikh elements and the giving of a "clean chit" by one deradar to another deradar means little.

Hardip singh ji ,there is a deep rot gnawing at the sikh spiritual fabric and all of us who love the Guru's Word have to work harder to make sure that those who tamper with sikh idealogy and contaminate the Guru,s message are instantly exposed and dealt with.

The Jathedars are the PROBLEM..how they can solve anything ? Didnt these very people attend the DG Fateh Diwas in Deena where they parkashed the DG equal to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and had its akhand paath etc and then denied shamelessly even video evidence ? This Gyani GS is one of those who went to deena...how can he not protect these saadhs..they scratch his back...and hes duty bound to scratch theirs..Sikhs are FOOLS if they want leadership from these self serving pujarees.

My question is why should we care if Akhand paath is going on in shani mandir
I don't agree with it but its a reality that plenty of people practice Hinduism and sikhism side by side.

Unless someone Disrespect Guru's or sikhism sikhs should not protest O/w we will be termed as fanatics and orthodox.

Dear Kanwardeep jee,

Is it fanaticism or we will be termed orthodox if we stand for the principles and teachings of Guru Sahibs. We have to put our basic tenets in the right prespective to others. Here at the Shanni Mandir, in order to please their diety, the so called authorised akhand path was being conducted along side the Havan and other Murti Pujas

To add to my origional post, these Akhand Paths at these Mandirs , Smadhs, Deras are only conducted to attract the poor dwindinling Sikh minds to them. Just another example of 'rootian karan pura taal'.

Actually all these saadhs are Multi-Tasking...if a sikh wants to see Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji..the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is there..if a lady wants a dhaga/thread/love potion/charm/holy ash..its there..If a man says his wife is having a ghost inside her..he ahs the exorcism techniques too...in other words..a "cure" fro everyone..just ask...these deras are sort of "religious Hypermarkets..everything under one roof concept..Baba Virsa in delhi even has the Baba Sri Chand/Jesus/Mohammed/Krishna/Taoist/Buddha/Dasam granth/ETC ETC ETC..all UNDER ONE ROOF of Gobind Sadan...

Now If a SIKH goes to a Genuine Gurdawra and wants his bhoots driven out..or his daughter exorcised..or aLove potion to get the next door girl to marry him..OF COURSE HE WONT Get any of these things in a Regular Singh sabha Gurdwara...so such will go to the enarest DERA..where all such requests are perfectly natural..just PAY..Cash and Carry !!

I have many so called Sikh friends who so desire to see aLiving Guru..they go to DERA BEAS..there is NO CURE for such..as they just cannot beleive in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as the True Guru..for them the distant TV screen guy is more real..
