Last Burj of Saduara Fort!
In 1712 Bahadur Shah proceeded against Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in person and fought a pitched battle. Banda left the fort, which was later demolished by Mughal forces, except this post (burj).

Burail(Sector 45) of Chandigarh
The fort was captured by Khalsa army of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
Earlier ruler used to keep newly married girls from Hindu community for 10-15 days before being given back to her husband. People of the area complained to Banda Singh Bahadur when he was passing from the area and he later sent his forces to capture the fort and end tyranny. Fort was captured in ?1712 and ruler killed in battle. There still exisst a Gurudwara and three main defence posts (burj) of the fort. |

Naqshbandi Dargah in Sirhind!!
In 1710, exactly 300 years from now, Sikhs under Baba Banda Singh demolished almost entire city of Sirhind, which is said to have spread across 50 square miles at that time, except this Dargah. Despite all the provocation and role of Naqshbandi’s in the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Sahib, Guru Teghbahadar Sahib and younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, the Dargah was not touched by Sikh army in 1710. It still stands tall! |
