Diversity Video Competition Winner!
Over 850 public votes were cast to determine the winner of this year's Diversity Video Competition! Gulshan Singh takes home first place with his film, "Let It Out". This film will be premiered at the Sikh Art and Film Festival [ http://www.sikharts.com/ ] in New York City next month. The second place winner is Jasleen Kaur with her film, "I Will Stand Up". The Sikh Coalition also wants to recognize David Woo for his compelling portrayal of "Neel", a victim of school bullying and has decided to award a third place prize of $250 to

Each video tells a compelling story in a different way. They each help people understand how Sikh students are affected by bullying. The Coalition will utilize these videos in its education work in order to bring to light this growing and serious problem for all students. If you haven't yet seen the videos in this year's competition, please click here [ http://www.sikhcoalition.org/Video_Competition.asp ].

A panel of judges reviewed all submissions received and narrowed down the videos to the top three. These judges used a 10-point criterion that was broken into 4 categories -- creativity, message, versatility, and quality of the production. We would like to thank Paul Johar, Kevin Lee, and Jasmeet Singh (JusReign) [ http://sikhcoalition.org/Video_Competition.asp ] for volunteering their time and expert opinion as judges for this competition.

The Coalition would like to thank the Sikh Art and Film Foundation [ http://www.sikharts.com/ ] for their partnership throughout the competition.

Special thanks also goes to Tej Singh Hazra and HSBC Bank Canada for their support of this initiative.
