In the early part of Sidh Gohst, Guru Nanak Dave ji are asked these questions. This is almost in a format of a respectful Question/Answer or Interview style of composition. We learn of Gur Nanak Dev jis succinct thoughts on many a common philosophically and worldly questions.

Let us review the following,

Sidhas/Yogis ask:
Quote:
Kavan ṯume ki▫ā nā▫o ṯumārā ka▫un mārag ka▫un su▫ā▫o. Sācẖ kaha▫o arḏās hamārī ha▫o sanṯ janā bal jā▫o.
Who are you? What is your name? What path? What purpose? My prayer to the eternal truth, and so joyously regarding the pious
Guru Ji’s answer:
Quote:
Gẖat gẖat bais niranṯar rahī▫ai cẖālėh saṯgur bẖā▫e. Sėhje ā▫e hukam siḏẖā▫e Nānak saḏā rajā▫e.
In all bodies the sublime so present; so proceeding as the true creator likes.; So calmly arrived; walking per direction; living in the will of such; Me Nanak
Guru ji wonderfully declare the association of us with the creator. Creator in all so present defining them and so guiding and in synchronization. Guru ji describe that when one so associates one finds the true source of association. One finds true path to follow.

Question becomes how close or far are we in understanding and so living?

What you think?

Sat Sri Akal.

He resides deep within us all. That's the place that Nanak makes his home or base, to stay connected to that and let his command take you wherever he goes.

We are too far away from this most of the time. We go where our mind tells us to go. We have the problem of egotism, desires and attachment that are all huge obstacles that hinder the connection between the Lord, deep within us all.
The Yogi can go to caves or in isolation away from society to try and connect with the lord. However, the one that yogi is searching for, is deep inside him all along, but the outward desires and ego stop us all from finding the truth within.

This is a cause of so much frustration, Yogism, Simran, Chanting, Samadhis, etc. We set an unachievable basis which has no meaning in Sikhism as infinite cannot be known. Even the first pangti/line in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji says so.

I am guilty of studying but I have no objective of claiming to know or understanding the infinite.

Knowing self is akin to knowing all that you ever wish to know about spiritually. When this happens, the wanderings disappear.

Sikhism is knowing self as part of all and living thereof. That is what Baba Nanak ji point to us in this.

Sat Sri Akal.
