At the beginning of Sidh Gohst, Guru Nanak Dave ji spell out the approach and decorum of discourse in Sidh Gohst.

Let us review the following,

Quote:
Siḏẖ sabẖā kar āsaṇ baiṯẖe sanṯ sabẖā jaikāro. Ŧis āgai rahrās hamārī sācẖā apar apāro.

Gathering of the true in composure, shouting glory to the gathering of the pious. Our prayer to those, where the true, infinite and confirmed creator so resides

Masṯak kāt ḏẖarī ṯis āgai ṯan man āgai ḏe▫o. Nānak sanṯ milai sacẖ pā▫ī▫ai sahj bẖā▫e jas le▫o. ||1||
I so offer my head, my body and mind to such. Nanak meeting the pious one gets the truth in such an unperturbed simple gift in rendition

Ki▫ā bẖavī▫ai sacẖ sūcẖā ho▫e. Sācẖ sabaḏ bin mukaṯ na ko▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Why so wander, the true is so received in contemplation. There is no salvation absent the true word.
Some aspects described in the above,
  • A respectful gathering with,
    • Enthusiastic participation
  • Recognition of the supreme creator
    • Respect to the objectives of the meeting
    • Hundred person effort and putting all in contribution
  • Recognizing that the wisdom flows from input of all wise participants
  • Recognizing that the focus is wisdom and truth and seeking of the same
  • Recognizing that seeking/sharing the truth and wisdom is the objective
Could we learn how to conduct ourselves in gatherings from such a guidance. I believe we can.

Could we learn how to conduct ourselves in gatherings from such a guidance. I believe we can.

What you think?

Sat Sri Akal.

We can learn alot from this conversation.
The beginning I found very important in terms of givng the answers as to how any sikh should ideally answer.

The questions were direct, but the answers didn't divert away, they simply made one question themselves and look into themselves.
