Im really into the deep bass of the Tabla in Kirtn and love bass in general. Does anyone have and good Simran, or shabad Kirtan videos or audios that have really deep bass!??!?
I love all Kirtan styles so any clip would be good, just NO DHARMIC please !! haha, because i prefer shabad and VAheguru naam only!

Sorry if this sounds ignorant, but I'm not certain what one means by '"dharmic". Do you mean traditional Kirtan with Raag or something else entirely. Sorry I want to post Kirtan but am unsure about your specifications. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/kirtan/38820-kirtan-or-simran-with-bass.html

| | | | | Re: Kirtan or Simran with Bass :) Hey,
Dharmik is like Punjabi religous songs that dont actually have any Gurbani in them, and are usually sung by those 'fake' Singhs that keep a half Beard fr the sake of the Song, like the religous songs Jazzy B sung in the past or Gobind De Naal - by Diljeet that just got released. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=38820
Im not one for those songs as id prefer proper Gurbani Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=38820
BTW, i love Kirtan with raag!! haha........ and no problem.
Cheers.

What is the difference between kirtan, simran and shabad?
As I understand it, simran is repetition of "Waheguru", and kirtan is singing from Sri Guru Granth Sahib? I'm not quite sure what shabad is.
Sorry again for my cluelessness, thanks in advance for any answer |

| | | | | Re: Kirtan or Simran with Bass :) Also I think this may be what you're looking for, the third song on the list has very deep bass, the rest are good too. http://www.sikhnet.com/gurbani/artis...-kaur-malaysia | | The following member appreciates Rory Ji for the above message. | |

| | | | | Re: Kirtan or Simran with Bass :) Shabad is like the hymn you have.
Kirtan is the singing of shabads from Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=38820Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=38820
The other songs that are termed religous or dharmik, are what don't qualify as shabads even though they may have some lines or references to some shabad. However, they are not gurbani in full whereas kirtan is. | | The following members appreciate Luckysingh Ji for the above message. | |

| | | | | Re: Kirtan or Simran with Bass :) You may find that on some live kirtan recordings you can experience the heavy bass beat that you are looking for, but it depends on where the recording mics were located.
I don't disregard any music wether it is dharmik geet or kirtan, as they each have their own place. Although for some that are just starting to listen and cannot quite qrasp the spoken gurmukhi, then dharmik geet are usually a good place to start and understand at the same time. ALL of this music can influence in one way or the other even if one prefers only a specific one. |

| | | | | Re: Kirtan or Simran with Bass :) Yeh i agree that all music can have a huge affect, but even for someone whose understanding of Gurmukhi is not very high and is beginning heir journey of Sikhi, i believe that listeneing to as much Kirtan an simran as possible is a great way to help you commit and not get bored of Sikhi. I say this because im a NZ born Punjabi, my punjabi speaking an understandig was ( now improving !!) poor and all i listened to was english music, having a reputation for always having my ipod on XD. As Guru ji did his Kirpa and gave me amrit, he instantly had me delete all my songs and helped me incredibly stick to kirtan and simran. I did not understand most of what i heard but it always and still does gave me a very happy feeling, which is whats so great about Shabad. Plus Kirtan for me was the best way to get some Bani veechar done.
