गुरि पूरै कीती पूरी ॥
Gur pūrai kīṯī pūrī.
The Perfect Guru has made me perfect.
ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ = ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਪੂਰੀ = ਸਫਲਤਾ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ) ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੀ ॥
प्रभु रवि रहिआ भरपूरी ॥
Parabẖ rav rahi▫ā bẖarpūrī.
God is totally pervading and permeating everywhere.
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਰਪੂਰੀ = ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ।

(ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਖੇਮ ਕੁਸਲ ਭਇਆ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ॥
खेम कुसल भइआ इसनाना ॥
Kẖem kusal bẖa▫i▫ā isnānā.
With joy and pleasure, I take my purifying bath.
ਆਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਹੁਣ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਖੇਮ ਕੁਸਲ = ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਹੈ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ (ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ)।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
पारब्रहम विटहु कुरबाना ॥१॥
Pārbarahm vitahu kurbānā. ||1||
I am a sacrifice to the Supreme Lord God. ||1||
ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਵੰਞਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਵਿਟਹੁ = ਤੋਂ ॥੧॥

ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਵਲ ਰਿਦ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
गुर के चरन कवल रिद धारे ॥
Gur ke cẖaran kaval riḏ ḏẖāre.
I enshrine the lotus feet of the Guru within my heart.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਚਰਨ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਰਿਦ = ਰਿਦੈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਏ,
ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਿਲ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिघनु न लागै तिल का कोई कारज सगल सवारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bigẖan na lāgai ṯil kā ko▫ī kāraj sagal savāre. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Not even the tiniest obstacle blocks my way; all my affairs are resolved. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕ ਤਿਲ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਭੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸੌਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
ਤਿਲ ਕਾ = ਤਿਲ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਭੀ, ਰਤਾ ਭੀ। ਸਗਲ = ਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥

(ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਏ ॥
मिलि साधू दुरमति खोए ॥
Mil sāḏẖū ḏurmaṯ kẖo▫e.
Meeting with the Holy Saints, my evil-mindedness was eradicated.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ। ਦੁਰਮਤਿ = ਖੋਟੀ ਅਕਲ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖੋਟੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸਭ ਹੋਏ ॥
पतित पुनीत सभ होए ॥
Paṯiṯ punīṯ sabẖ ho▫e.
All the sinners are purified.
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਤਿਤ = ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ। ਪੁਨੀਤ = ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ।

ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਰਾਮਦਾਸਿ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਨਾਤੇ ॥
रामदासि सरोवर नाते ॥
Rāmḏās sarovar nāṯe.
Bathing in the sacred pool of Guru Ram Das,
ਰਾਮ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ,
ਰਾਮਦਾਸਿ ਸਰੋਵਰ = ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ। ਨਾਤੇ = ਨ੍ਹਾਤੇ, ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਜੇਹੜੇਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦੇਹਨ (ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)
ਸਭ ਲਾਥੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਤੇ ॥੨॥
सभ लाथे पाप कमाते ॥२॥
Sabẖ lāthe pāp kamāṯe. ||2||
all the sins one has committed are washed away. ||2||
ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਧੋਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ) ਕਮਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
गुन गोबिंद नित गाईऐ ॥
Gun gobinḏ niṯ gā▫ī▫ai.
So sing forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe;
ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ,

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
साधसंगि मिलि धिआईऐ ॥
Sāḏẖsang mil ḏẖi▫ā▫ī▫ai.
joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on Him.
ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਿ = ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ।

ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥
मन बांछत फल पाए ॥
Man bāʼncẖẖaṯ fal pā▫e.
The fruits of your mind's desires are obtained
ਚਿੱਤ-ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਮੇਵੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ = ਮਨ-ਇੱਛੇ।

ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੇ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੩॥
गुरु पूरा रिदै धिआए ॥३॥
Gur pūrā riḏai ḏẖi▫ā▫e. ||3||
by meditating on the Perfect Guru within your heart. ||3||
ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ।
ਰਿਦੈ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ॥੩॥

ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਆਨੰਦਾ ॥
गुर गोपाल आनंदा ॥
Gur gopāl ānanḏā.
The Guru, the Lord of the World, is blissful;
ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਨ।

ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਨੰਦ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ।
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥
जपि जपि जीवै परमानंदा ॥
Jap jap jīvai parmānanḏā.
chanting, meditating on the Lord of supreme bliss, He lives.
ਮਹਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਜੀਊਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ = ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ।

ਉਸ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
जन नानक नामु धिआइआ ॥
Jan Nānak nām ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā.
Servant Guru Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੬੦॥
प्रभ अपना बिरदु रखाइआ ॥४॥१०॥६०॥
Parabẖ apnā biraḏ rakẖā▫i▫ā. ||4||10||60||
God has confirmed His innate nature. ||4||10||60||
ਸੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਰਮ (ਸੁਭਾਵ) ਪਾਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਰਦੁ = ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੬੦॥

ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ (ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸੁਭਾਉ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੬੦॥

Essence: Guru Arjun Dev ji provide a description of how one creator, ever loving and for time immemorial enters our intellect, it appears like something treading so softly in our mind. Our mind feels like how body feels from a rinse. This allows the ill thoughts of the past to dissipate and greater happiness abounds.

Note: I am not sure if this is the only first hand reference by one of our Guru ji to Ramdas Srovar that surrounds the Harmandir Sahib.

Veer ji ,My interpretation would be more literal in the sense it employs poetic licence, perhaps when our Guru first enjoyed the bathe at the tank his father had made ,he was at that moment inspired to say that it can clean all your sins.

(I don't like to be corrected because I know that to be my view,but you may all correct your own views by all means)

Veer ji I have no problem as such as I have taken many dips in that srovar since we were born. The dip kind of awoke you and as you went under water closing your eyes, it felt quite serene. Do such stimulii have no mental impact, I doubt that they don't. What the impact is; is in the mind of the beholder!

We use to play hide and seek in Darbar Sahib/Harmandir Sahib. Just blissful.

In my opinion, the literal translation is totally misleading and that is why it is corrected by Prof. Sahib Singh ji.

Ram Das Sarover has nothing to do with our 4th Guru but about all Sikhs of Ik Ong Kaar and nor is it about taking a dip in the srovar as you correctly mentioned that surrounds our Sanctum Sanctorum but bathing oneself in Shabad Vichar.
