| | | | | Sri Guru Granth Sahib: Review of Meaning: Not fearful. Application: Guru ji use a common human emotion of ਡਰ/ fear to qualify the creator. Basically the creator is not fearing of anything as nothing is unknown or a surprise to the creator. In the continuous transformational universe, if left to human like emotions and made in-charge of the same, there will be fear of new life forms, fear of rains causing floods so no rain, fear of earthquakes causing the generation of balance in the bigger mother earth humans would leave it to the final catastrophe, there will be no forest fires to create transformational elements, there will be no volcanoes spewing fire, and so on. But the creator knows no such fear. In the grand scheme of things when one reaches stage of understanding, such may show up as just minor tools in the creator’s system for the universe. Whereas fear provides checks and balances for us as humans in many situations helping us assess and pause, that is only because we have for too many unknowns and we are limited. In the infiniteness of creation where the creator knows, such is not the case and hence naturally fear has no place. Now if one were to use this facet of our understanding of the creator through Sri Guru Granth Sahib, does it not give Sikhs a head start to lead towards fearless recognition of truths as second nature in matters of the universe and our species as a sub-set. The strength such can generate even in human endeavors is a force to reckon with. Comments welcome and all errors are mine and I stand corrected. Sat Sri Akal.

| | | | | Re: Sri Guru Granth Sahib: Review of ਨਿਰਭਉ (nirbẖa▫o) Finally, enough time to read through! One creator present as one essence everywhere, whose name is the truth, architect of the universe, who knows no fear, Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/gurmat-vichaar/37256-sri-guru-granth-sahib-review-nirb.html
It is indeed a luxury to know no fear, to live without fear, of ridicule, of pain, suffering, even life, and the life of our loved ones, just like the five thieves can be made to work for us, pulling our reason from place to place, so fear can also be made to work for us, as we are not Creator, we are not fearless, for if we were, we would also be loveless, as someone who knows no fear, surely knows no love.I love Ambersariaji's 'checks and balances', and the concept of fear works well with that. If we truly wish to fear as little as possible, then we must act in a manner that does not attract fearful feelings, respect of laws, both in nature, and legal, paying of taxes, being honest, being truthful, all in order to avoid feeling fear, Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/showthread.php?t=37256
In as much as we can never know the eternal truth, we will never be without fear, but by all means possible, we must take every step towards a path of truth, honesty, and planting true and honest seeds that reap peace, integrity, I would suggest that truth and lack of fear go hand in hand | | The following members appreciate harry haller Ji for the above message. | |
