Guru Ji tells us to sing God's praise day and night.
Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/gurmat-vichaar/20068-in-his-praise.html

In the following Shabad Guru Ji describes God's Praise as PRICELESS:

English Translation:
Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:
Excellent, excellent, excellent, excellent, excellent is Your Name.
False, false, false, false is pride in the world. ||1||Pause||
The glorious vision of Your slaves, O Infinite Lord, is wonderful and beauteous.
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the whole world is just ashes. ||1||
Your Creative Power is marvellous, and Your Lotus Feet are admirable.
Your Praise is priceless, O True King. ||2||
God is the Support of the unsupported.
Meditate day and night on the Cherisher of the meek and humble. ||3||
God has been merciful to Nanak.
May I never forget God; He is my heart, my soul, my breath of life. ||4||10||

Give up cleverness, let Him support your Mind, and obtain the rapture and the vision of his servants.

mai man thaeree ttaek maerae piaarae mai man thaeree ttaek ||
You are the Support of my mind, O my Beloved, You are the Support of my mind.

avar siaanapaa birathheeaa piaarae raakhan ko thum eaek ||1|| rehaao ||
All other clever tricks are useless, O Beloved; You alone are my Protector. ||1||Pause||

sathigur pooraa jae milai piaarae so jan hoth nihaalaa ||
One who meets with the Perfect True Guru, O Beloved, that humble person is
enraptured.

gur kee saevaa so karae piaarae jis no hoe dhaeiaalaa ||
He alone serves the Guru, O Beloved, unto whom the Lord becomes merciful.

safal moorath guradhaeo suaamee sarab kalaa bharapoorae ||

Fruitful is the form of the Divine Guru, O Lord and Master; He is overflowing with all powers.

naanak gur paarabreham paramaesar sadhaa sadhaa hajoorae ||1||
O Nanak, the Guru is the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord; He is ever-present, forever and ever. ||1||

sun sun jeevaa soe thinaa kee jinh apunaa prabh jaathaa ||
I live by hearing, hearing of those who know their God.

har naam araadhhehi naam vakhaanehi har naamae hee man raathaa ||
They contemplate the Lord's Name, they chant the Lord's Name, and their minds are imbued with the Lord's Name.

I am Your servant; I beg to serve Your humble servants. By the karma of perfect destiny, I do this.

naanak kee baenanthee suaamee thaerae jan dhaekhan paavaa ||2||
This is Nanak's prayer: O my Lord and Master, may I obtain the Blessed Vision of Your humble servants. ||2||
