A 404 error is often returned when pages have been moved or deleted.

They have probably been updating their web pages and perhaps forgot to check on the accuracy of the designated addresses of the pages you seek. Your computer is requesting pages at a particular url http:// etc and the page has a different url or http://etc address.

This often happens when you edit a page and then transfer the page back to the server. The usual problem is that some extra code gets included with the url. For example, http://www.sikhism.us will be edited and then when the file is transferred the page address would morph into something like c:User:Aman:Documents:http://www.sikhism.us

Then your computer can't find what it is looking for because of the mismatch of addresses. The newer file transfer software packages are prone to do this. It can make you crazy.

So what should I do? :confused:

You cannot do anything about that. Error 404 is a mistake on their end. The page is address is mistaken and has changed temporarily. Usually the problem clears up behind the scenes. But you have to wait. I just took a look at the page source code and can see their html coding mistakes right in there. Contact Us link doesn't work, but there might be a work around.

You might want to call the Gurdwara directly at
Please contact the Gurdwara directly by Phone 916-673-9918 for matters related to the Gurdwara

The contact us link on the Gurdwara page doesn't work either - the server is down there. So this emial link to the website creator doesn't work either.

Anyway -- Here are some great pics of the Nov 2008 Sikh Parade in Yuba City in celebration of the Gurgaddi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

->http://picasaweb.google.com/yubacity1

Click on 2008 Sikh parade, then click on slideshow.

The diversity of Sikhs and Punjabis in the celebration is amazing -- how many different turbans, how many different Sikhs! How many different kinds of foods being prepared! How many different gurdwaras were represented! And even the 3HO's have their own float. This celebration was bigger than I imagined -- HUGE!

It is a mystery. I think that they started to move things around ... and then got up and walked away with the job half done. You know a lot of times the gurdwara web sites in the US are not well maintained.
