Sikhs, individually and collectively, are doing great jobs by serving the society at a global level. Earlier, the president of the World Bank and now the mayor of Connecticut were the recent achievements. This is indeed a historic and momentous achievement. Sardar Swarnjit Singh Khalsa deserved to be honored by the entire Sikh community on this groundbreaking accomplishment. It is a significant achievement for the Sikh community in the United States, demonstrating the increasing representation and participation of Sikhs in American civic life.
Sardar Swarnjit Singh's family has been dedicated to the service of society, as can be seen from his family background. His grandfather, Jathedar Inder Pal Singh Khalsa Ji, and his father, Parminder Pal Singh, had been active not only for the service of Sikhs but also the entire American community. They laid a strong foundation for this achievement. Their commitment to community engagement and advocacy has undoubtedly shaped Sardar Swarnjit Singh's own path to public service, creating a multigenerational legacy of leadership and dedication to both the Sikh community and the broader American society. Sikhs in general and Sikh youth in particular across America will find themselves now acknowledged in American society and government, where they can demonstrate the opportunities available through civic participation and public service. Sardar Swarnjit Singh Khalsa's time as a mayor is expected to create better opportunities for Connecticut with his wisdom, compassion, and effective leadership that benefits all members of his community. May God bless him in his strive for the society and congratulate him on the great success
