Multiple reports confirmed the failure of Pakistan’s Chinese-made HQ-9 air defence system to intercept Indian aircraft or missiles during the conflict. Indian forces effectively jammed and bypassed air defence units deployed around strategic sites. Operation Sindoor not only marked a decisive military and strategic win for India but also laid bare critical weaknesses in Pakistan’s military, particularly its heavy dependence on Chinese defence equipment. With nearly 82% of Pakistan’s defence imports sourced from China, the operation served as a real-world trial for Beijing’s weaponry—one that exposed major flaws when pitted against a combination of Indian and Western systems.

Indian forces successfully struck and neutralized key Pakistani military and terror-related infrastructure, often bypassing or overwhelming Chinese-origin air defence platforms like the HQ-9. The Chinese-made system failed to intercept multiple Indian missile strikes, including those carried out with the BrahMos missile.

Reports also point to underperformance or outright failure of other Chinese systems during the operation—from PL-15 air-to-air missiles and J-10C fighter jets to naval frigates—leaving Pakistan’s defences compromised and unable to mount an effective response to India’s offensive.

These combat failures have implications far beyond the subcontinent. The inability of Chinese weapons to perform under battlefield conditions has further damaged China’s already-fragile standing as a global arms exporter. Defence analysts argue that the outcome of Operation Sindoor confirms longstanding concerns about the quality and reliability of Chinese military equipment. The results are likely to worsen China’s declining arms exports, which have been dropping in recent years due to similar performance and quality issues.

This credibility gap creates a strategic opportunity for other defence manufacturers—including India—to promote their own battle-tested and reliable systems in the global market.

Multiple reports confirmed the failure of Pakistan’s Chinese-made HQ-9 air defence system to intercept Indian aircraft or missiles during the conflict. Indian forces effectively jammed and bypassed air defence units deployed around strategic sites. The underperformance of HQ-9 and other Chinese systems has raised significant doubts about their detection and interception capabilities, particularly against modern Indian and Western platforms.

Chinese nationals reportedly voiced criticism on social media, attributing the HQ-9's failure to "inadequate training and operational inefficiencies on the Pakistani side."

The PL-15, a Chinese beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile often compared to the American AIM-120D, also failed to meet expectations. Some reportedly missed their targets entirely or malfunctioned mid-flight. Indian officials even displayed fragments of a PL-15 missile recovered in Hoshiarpur, which landed without hitting anything—undermining Chinese claims about the missile’s effectiveness.

While pro-Chinese media claimed successful hits by PL-15 missiles, these reports were "largely considered propaganda" and lacked independent verification.

Marketed as a “carrier killer,” the Chinese-made CM-400AKG was easily detected by India’s Netra and AWACS platforms. Despite its high speed, the missile’s lack of stealth and limited terminal manoeuvrability made it highly vulnerable to jamming and spoofing.

Pakistan deployed J-10C and JF-17 Block III fighter jets—both Chinese platforms equipped with PL-15 missiles—during the operation. However, they failed to significantly disrupt Indian airstrikes. Claims that these jets shot down multiple Indian aircraft, including Rafales, remain "unsubstantiated and unverified by independent sources." Notably, Pakistan has provided no physical evidence such as debris of downed Indian jets to support these claims.

Many military analysts described the performance of these fighters as lack-lustre when faced with Indian aircraft, which included a mix of Western and Russian-origin platforms.

U.S. President Donald Trump has made a significant statement regarding rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Addressing the media, Trump warned that if India and Pakistan go to war again, the United States would not pursue any agreements with either country. He emphasized that he is currently in close negotiations with India and that representatives from Pakistan are expected to visit next week for discussions. Trump stated, "We're very close to making a deal with India, and Pakistan representatives are coming next week. But I wouldn’t have any interest in making a deal with either if they were going to be at war with each other." His remarks underline Washington’s stance on regional peace and its unwillingness to engage diplomatically amid active conflict.

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan refuted Pakistan’s claims that it had shot down six Indian fighter jets during the four-day military confrontation post-Operation Sindoor, adding that India had rectified “tactical errors" quickly and the focus should be on the lessons learned, not the number of aircraft lost.

Speaking to Bloomberg TV at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, General Anil Chauhan dismissed Pakistan’s claim that it downed six Indian jets as “absolutely incorrect," but declined to give specific figures regarding aircraft losses during the conflict that erupted on May 7 — the worst military escalation between India and Pakistan in over 50 years.

As per an ongoing analysis of the damage inflicted upon by the Indian Air Force on Pakistan Air Force, it is emerging that 6 PAF fighter jets, two high value aircraft, over 10 unmanned combat aerial vehicles, one C-130 transport aircraft along with multiple cruise missiles were destroyed by Indian air-launched cruise missiles and surface-to-air missiles.

Sources who were involved in the operations launched against Pakistani aggression told ANI that as per the technical analysis of the data available with the IAF, six of the Pakistan Air Force fighter aircraft were shot down in air during operations.

One high-value aerial asset, which could either be an electronic counter measures aircraft or an Airborne Early Warning or Control Aircraft, was taken out by a long range strike by the Sudarshan at distances of around 300 km, they said.

The sources said that during the four-day conflict, the strikes at Bholari airbase using air-to-surface cruise missiles resulted in the loss of another AEWC aircraft of Swedish origin.

There are inputs about presence of fighter jets also in the hangar but since the Pakistanis are not even taking out debris from there, "we are not counting the fighter aircraft losses on ground", they said.

The Pakistani fighter jets were captured by the Indian Air Force radars and air defence missile systems and were seen vanishing after hits were secured by the air defence systems.

The Pakistan Air Force also lost a C-130 transport aircraft during one of the drone strikes by Indian Air Force in the Pakistani Punjab.
The Indian Air Force used only air-launched cruise missiles to attack Pakistani bases and no surface- to-surface BrahMos missiles were used in the attacks, they said.

In one of strikes on a hangar by Rafale and Su-30 jets, a significant number of Chinese Wing Loong series medium altitude long endurance drones were destroyed , the sources said.

More than 10 UCAVs were also destroyed by the different IAF air defence systems over Pakistani air space in the conflict along with large-scale interception of Pakistani air and ground launched cruise and ballistic missiles aimed at different air bases, they said.

The Indian Air Force, the sources said, is still carrying out the analysis of the huge amount of data gathered by it during the conflict.

The conflict between India and Pakistan started in May 6-7 night when India retaliated by targeting terrorist universities in the Pakistani Punjab and Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir in response to Pahalgam terror attack.

The conflict lasted till May 10 afternoon when Pakistan side requested for a ceasefire in view of the heavy losses suffered by it in the attacks by the Indian Air Force.

Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan on Tuesday used a striking cricketing analogy to describe India's decisive win over Pakistan in 'Operation Sindoor,' asserting that India had inflicted an 'innings defeat' on its adversary.

After completing his speech on 'Future Wars and Warfare', organised by the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies of Savitribai Phule Pune University, the CDS took a couple of questions from the scholars present there.
In response to a question about the damage suffered by Pakistan during 'Operation Sindoor', Gen Chauhan made it clear that the operation has not ended as of now and there is a 'temporary cessation of hostilities'.

And then he explained. "I will give a detailed kind of an answer on this."

"Suppose you go into a football match and you win 4-2; he scored two goals and you scored four goals. So that's an even-sided match."

The Chief of Defence Staff immediately shifted to the cricketing metaphor, drawing a clear distinction about the outcome of the hostilities.

"But suppose you go into a cricket test match and you win by an 'innings defeat'," he continued, "then there is no question of how many wickets and how many balls and how many players. It's an innings (defeat that has been inflicted)."

The top military commander's remarks were met with loud applause from the audience as this analogy conveyed the comprehensive nature of India's victory.

Despite heightened tensions and a brief military confrontation in May, trade between India and Pakistan continued, largely facilitated through third-country channels, according to official data.

Imports from India reached $211.5 million during the first 11 months of FY25, surpassing the previous fiscal year’s total of $207 million and $190 million in FY23, Dawn reported citing figures from the State Bank of Pakistan.

Notably, in May, when a four-day conflict broke out in the first week, Pakistan imported goods worth $15 million from India. This was marginally lower than the $17 million recorded in the same month last year. However, Pakistan’s exports to India remained negligible. May exports stood at just $1,000, bringing the total for July-May FY25 to only $0.5 million. This continues a trend of highly one-sided trade, with exports amounting to $3.44 million in FY24 and just $0.33 million in FY23.
Formal trade ties between the two neighbours have remained strained since 2019. Following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people, India took swift action, including the suspension of operations at the Attari land transit post — a key route for limited cross-border trade.

In response, Pakistan declared a complete halt to trade with India, including any exchange routed through third countries.
“Traders were reluctant to discuss the continuation of imports during the tense period. However, one trader suggested: “It may have come from a third country and the payment for the May imports would have been made before the war.”

Although official data reflects limited trade, some research institutions claim the actual trade is far higher. “India’s unofficial exports to Pakistan are estimated at USD 10 billion annually, routed primarily through Dubai, Colombo, and Singapore,” Dawn said quoting a research body.

Analysts said the unofficial trade remains robust due to Pakistan’s high cost of production and industrial dependence on foreign inputs. “We should not ignore smuggling from India since the cost of production in Pakistan is the highest in the region, which creates space for goods from India, China, and Bangladesh,” said an exporter.

‘India was actually fighting China, not Pakistan’: Congress on Army Dy Chief Rahul Singh's explosive remarks

The Congress also said that China was ‘micromanaging the Pakistan Air Force to an extraordinary degree’, claiming that it was the reason why the party had been ‘asking for a discussion’ on all the diplomatic challenges posed by China.

‘India was actually fighting China, not Pakistan,’ says Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Army Dy Chief Rahul Singh's explosive remarks.

India was actually fighting China, not Pakistan,’ says Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Army Dy Chief Rahul Singh's explosive remarks.
Following Lt Gen Rahul Singh's explosive remarks that China shared data on India's assets with Pakistan, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Friday said that the deputy army chief's comment “gives public expression to what had been feared, which is that we were actually fighting China, we were not fighting Pakistan”.

Jairam Ramesh further said that “China was micromanaging the Pakistan Air Force to an extraordinary degree", claiming that this was the reason why the Congress has been “asking for a discussion on the strategic challenges, economic challenges (and) diplomatic challenges being posed by China”.

The Congress MP's comments came after Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance) Lt Gen Rahul R Singh said that “81 per cent of the military hardware with Pakistan is Chinese” and that China was providing all possible support to Pakistan during India’s Operation Sindoor.

Lt Gen Rahul Singh made the statement while speaking at the 'New Age Military Technologies' event organised by FICCI, on Friday.

While addressing the Pakistan-China alliance, the deputy army chief flagged that India actually has ‘three adversaries’, where Pakistan was on the front and China was providing all possible support to India's arch-rival.
Lt Gen Rahul Singh also mentioned Turkey, which has repeatedly vowed its support for Pakistan since Operation Sindoor.

India-China border dispute

India and China share a 3, 800 km largely undemarcated and disputed border in the Himalayas and have gone to war over it.
Following the border standoff in eastern Ladakh, India has consistently maintained that peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) are essential for normalising overall ties with China.

Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance) Lt Gen Rahul R Singh on Friday said that “81 per cent of the military hardware with Pakistan is Chinese” and that China was providing all possible support to Pakistan during India’s Operation Sindoor.
Speaking at the 'New Age Military Technologies' event organised by FICCI, Lt Gen Singh said it was “like a live lab” for China as it was “able to test its weapons against other weapons".
While acknowledging the Pakistan China Aliance, the deputy army chief pointed out that India has "two adversaries on one border…actually three", where Pakistan was on the front and China was providing all possible support.

Lessons learnt during Op Sindoor

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's aide Rana Sanaullah has said in an interview that Pakistan only had 30 or 45 seconds to decide if India's BrahMos missile during Operation Sindoor was armed with a nuclear warhead.
In a clip from an interview, Rana Sanaullah is heard acknowledging the confusion within Pakistan’s political establishment caused by India’s actions in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
“When India fired BrahMos and it hit Nur Khan airbase, Pakistan’s military had 30 or 45 seconds to determine if it carried a nuclear warhead,” Rana Sanaullah said. He also underlined the risk of a nuclear war during the heightened India-Pakistan tensions.
“Having to decide on this in just 30 seconds created a dangerously rushed situation…people on this side could have misunderstood it, triggering the first nuclear weapon that could spark a global nuclear war," he said.

Less than 50 weapons...: IAF officer reveals Op Sindoor details

Less than 50 weapons fired by the Indian Air Force at carefully chosen Pakistani military targets forced Islamabad by mid-day of May 10 to request the end of military hostilities, Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari said on Saturday.

Air Marshal Tiwari, recounting the mission, said the IAF was able to achieve "complete domination" over the Pakistan military with the strikes that were carried out following Pakistan's attack on the intervening night of May 9 and 10.
"I must tell you that it was a key takeaway for us that in less than 50 weapons, we were able to achieve complete domination. It has not happened before," Tiwari said at the NDTV Defence Summit.

The senior IAF officer, who played a key role in Operation Sindoor, said some of the Pakistan targets that were "taken out" in the course of the mission were not hit even during the 1971 war.
"We made every weapon count and that is a tacit acknowledgement of the capability of our planners and people who executed the missions," he said.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in territories controlled by Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
The strikes triggered four days of intense clashes that ended with an understanding on stopping the military actions on May 10.
The Vice Chief of Air Staff also elaborated on the sequence of events relating to Operation Sindoor and showed certain graphic details of India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Air Marshal Tiwari said India was not willing to escalate the situation following its strikes on Pakistani terror infrastructure on the early morning of May 7.

Air Force used less than 50 weapons to destroy Pakistan air capabilities

"We expected a response and still kept it calibrated, and we engaged only military targets. But when the main attack came on the night of May 9-10, that was the time we decided that we needed to go and send the right message. We hit them pan-front," he said.
"There were targets which were taken out, which were not even taken out during the 1971 war. That is the kind of extent and damage to capability that we had caused to them," he said, adding that the IAF restricted its strikes to only military targets.
The senior IAF officer said the idea behind the strikes was to take out Pakistan's capability and send out the "right message".
He acknowledged that the use of such long-range vectors to hit enemy targets involves risks but the IAF executed the mission with perfection.
"The precision targeting from this range is very very essential as it is very risky because the longer the vector, you feel that there are more chances of collateral (damage)."
"But to the credit of our planners and credit of people who executed the missions, we were able to take out each target precisely. We were able to ensure there was no collateral damage. This is not an easy game," he said.
"You may have a long-range vector, but the work that goes behind making that vector or that weapon hit a target accurately is actually an effort of the whole team, not only the pilots who fired them. There are a lot of people on the ground who make that happen," he said.
After the strikes at the terror infrastructure, India informed Pakistan that it does not want to escalate the situation and the strikes were aimed at terrorist bases.
But as Pakistan launched a military retaliation, India responded to it very strongly.

Seven months after Op Sindhoor-A Review

Col Dr Dalvinder Singh Grewal

Operation Sindhoor was carried out on May 7, 2025 and now on Monday November 10, 2025, 13 people were killed and 24 injured in a car blast near Red Fort Metro Station (Gate 1). Investigations point it to be a terrorist attack carried out by educated Doctors with their background to Pulwama Kashmir. This leaves no doubt that the fire among the terrorists has not yet been extinguished and the educated Gen Zee goes on planning and attacking to take revenge of the deaths of their near and dear ones in Operation Sindhoor. Jamaat-ul-Momineen has been formed after the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed decided to form its women's wing. Its formation was announced in October this year through a letter addressed to Jaish-e-Mohammed chief and UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar, in which Sadia Azhar was named its chief. Sadia Yousuf is the wife of Azhar who was among many killed during Operation Sindhoor on May 7, when India attacked the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters at Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur. Dr. Saeed's alleged role suggests that Jaish-e-Mohammed is following the ISI policy of recruiting female attackers on the lines adopted by groups like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria which used women in combat or suicide operations.

The incident has also highlighted the concerns of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, central security agencies and the army operating in Jammu and Kashmir that the ISI is trying to influence more women in the terror module, officials said. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has already intensified its vigil on several educational institutions, especially private schools, as concerns are growing about alleged radicalisation among young minds, especially girl students.

The officials said that disturbing information is coming from some private schools in Kashmir which were allegedly involved in spreading radical ideologies among the youth, especially women. The rise in radicalisation among women has also triggered some former separatist groups as they are worried that another religious fundamentalist movement from the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) will destabilise the valley's centuries-old 'Sufi' tradition.

Officials pointed to a sudden rise in pan-Islamist sentiments among the youth, including girls, in the Valley as intelligence reports suggest that hardline religious leaders are inspiring them with a strict interpretation of Islam that rejects traditional Kashmiri practices, such as visiting shrines and paying obeisance to Sufi saints.

Officials said the Kashmir Valley's education system has been irreparably damaged, repeatedly proving incapable of presenting students with a vision of the future and thus resorting to a strict interpretation of Islam as a refuge.

A report indicates Pakistan-based terror groups particularly Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are mobilising for a new wave of coordinated strikes. Fresh intelligence inputs reveal an alarming escalation in Pakistan-backed terror activity targeting the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A precision counter-terror campaign launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, the report indicates that Pakistan-based terror groups particularly Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are mobilising for a new wave of coordinated strikes.

According to the intelligence dossier, terror groups have stepped up infiltration, reconnaissance, and cross-border logistics since September. Multiple LeT and JeM units reportedly entered Jammu and Kashmir through infiltration routes along the Line of Control (LoC), aided by Pakistan's Special Services Group (SSG) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) operatives.

Sources said an LeT unit led by terrorist Shamsher conducted aerial reconnaissance using drones, identifying vulnerable LoC gaps, an indication of possible fedayeen-style assaults or weapon drops in coming weeks.

Intelligence assessments further reveal that Pakistan's Border Action Teams (BATs) comprising former SSG soldiers and terrorists have been redeployed across Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), signalling potential cross-border attacks on Indian positions. This marks one of the most concerted post-Operation Sindhoor escalations, suggesting Pakistan's renewed strategy to "export instability" into the Union Territory.

High-level meetings in PoK during October 2025 reportedly brought together senior members of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hizbul Mujahideen, and ISI officials. These gatherings, according to intercepted communication, finalised plans to revive dormant terror cells, issue monthly stipends to ex-commanders, and direct groups to avenge losses inflicted during Operation Sindhoor. ISI handlers, the report notes, have instructed terror Tanzeems to intensify "retaliatory attacks" against Indian security forces and political workers.

Adding a dangerous new dimension, LeT operatives have begun mapping local sympathizers and assets across Kashmir valley, reviving their human intelligence network that had largely been dismantled after India's intensified counter-terror operations earlier this year.

The latest developments come amid a fragile calm in Jammu and Kashmir, where local elections and a gradual return of tourism have been hailed as signs of normalcy. However, security agencies caution that the ISI-backed terror grid is seeking to derail this progress, especially after Pakistan faced global isolation for sponsoring terrorism. Since April 2025, Islamabad's deepening economic crisis and political instability have further emboldened hardline factions within its establishment to reignite proxy conflicts along the LoC.

Officials in New Delhi have described the intelligence as a "critical warning" and indicated that the Indian Army and intelligence apparatus are on high alert across northern command sectors. Operation Sindhoor, which dismantled multiple LeT and TRF modules earlier this year, may soon enter a renewed phase if Pakistan's "export of terror" continues unabated.

This intelligence inputs also come at a time when India is conducting its biggest Trishul Tri-service exercise on the western borders of Gujarat and Rajasthan. As winter nears, a period traditionally marked by reduced infiltration, analysts warn that Pakistan's renewed aggression could mark the beginning of a long winter of terror in Jammu and Kashmir, testing India's vigilance once again.

Parallel narco-terror and arms smuggling channels are also being expanded to finance terror activities, echoing patterns seen in Punjab and parts of Rajasthan earlier this year. A "sharp" spike has been seen in the sightings and recovery of drugs-laden drones coming into India from Pakistan across the international border in Punjab over the last four years posing a "significant" threat to the country's internal security, according to a report released on Tuesday.

A new report reveals a surge in drug smuggling via drones from Pakistan into India. Narcotics Control Bureau reports a six-fold increase in synthetic drug seizures since 2019. Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the report. Maritime drug seizures have also increased dramatically. The 'Death Crescent' and 'Death Triangle' remain key drug sources. Cocaine and mephedrone seizures are also up.

In 2024, the number of such seizures "rose manifolds" reaching 179 cases as compared to just three cases in 2021. The recovered drug consignments largely included heroin and opium, the report said. Out of the 179 cases of drug trafficking through drones along the India-Pakistan border reported last year, 163 took place in Punjab, 15 along the same front in Rajasthan and one in Jammu and Kashmir. The total drug recovery was about 236 kgs, according to the report. The seizure of synthetic drugs in the country during 2020 stood at 1,989 kgs, 657 kgs in 2021, 4,216 kgs in 2022 and 4,209 kgs in 2023. "In 2024, about 11,994 kgs of synthetic drugs were seized compared to just 1,890 kgs in 2019. This sharp rise is primarily driven by the high profitability and increasing market demand for these substances," said the report that compiles all-India figures on narcotics. In 2024, seizures from the sea amounted to 10,564 kgs witnessing a nearly 500-fold surge as compared to 2019, it said. In a major breakthrough against arms trafficking, the Punjab Police have dismantled a cross-border weapon smuggling network and arrested two key accused, who were allegedly operating under the directions of Pakistani handlers.

Pakistan ISI has been continuously a spy network from within India. A YouTuber, security guard and an app developer were among the 11 people caught red-handed by the police for allegedly passing on sensitive information about India's national security and military to Pakistani operatives. The 11 arrested individuals had allegedly spied for Pakistan's spy agency ISI and shared sensitive information related to India's national security and military. Haryana Police and federal agencies said Monday afternoon that they had uncovered a 'network of spies' feeding Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence with classified data, potentially including information about military bases at a time of heightened tension between the two countries.

Police from Haryana's Nuh said they had arrested a second individual linked to the 'spy ring'. He has been identified as Tarif, the son of Hanif, from a village in Nuh's Tauru subdivision. The first was 23-year-old Arman, who was arrested last week based on intelligence inputs. The cops said they have evidence to prove Arman was passing sensitive information to Pak. In addition, cases have been filed against two employees of the Pak High Commission in Delhi. In the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, a spy network was created by Pakistan ISI through their agents posted in Delhi embassy. in multiple states amid a nationwide crackdown on those involved in espionage activities. Among the most prominent arrests made was a Haryana-based travel vlogger named Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested for allegedly leaking sensitive information. Others arrested include Davendra Singh Dhillon, a 25-year-old Political Science student from a university in Punjab's Patiala, and Shahzad, a businessman from UP's Moradabad. Mr Dhillon was arrested in Haryana's Kaithal. The cops found he visited Pak in November and believe he shared info - including images of the Patiala military cantonment - with the ISI. Mr Shahzad too allegedly shared sensitive information with Pak, and the authorities believe he provided logistical support to terrorists already within India and waiting to mount attacks.

The rush of arrests is particularly significant given India has accused Pakistan of continuing - in violation of international law and demands by global watchdogs like the United Nations and the Financial Action Task Force - to fund and sponsor cross-border terrorist attacks on Indian soil. India had blamed the terror network in Pak for the attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam in May, in which 26 people, mostly civilians, were murdered by gunmen from a proxy of the Pak-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has been recognised internationally as a terrorist organisation. For this India has to launch attack on terrorists’ outfits in Operation Sindhoor.

Tensions between India and Pakistan appear to be on the rise again after both countries’ capitals were rocked by deadly blasts just a day apart from each other, fuelling fears of another full-blown clash this year. Pakistan is reaping the fruits of terrorism too. On Tuesday afternoon, a suicide bomber self-detonated next to a police car outside a court building in Islamabad, killing at least 12 others and wounding at least 27. Many of those killed or injured were passersby or people attending court appointments, according to Islamabad police.

“We are in a state of war,” Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said in a post on X that did not name India and blamed the Taliban government in Afghanistan. “Anyone who thinks that the Pakistan Army is fighting this war in the Afghan-Pakistan border region and the remote areas of Balochistan should take today’s suicide attack at the Islamabad district courts as a wake-up call: this is a war for all of Pakistan, in which the Pakistan Army is giving daily sacrifices and making the people feel secure.”

India rejected accusations of its involvement, calling them “baseless and unfounded allegations being made by an obviously delirious Pakistani leadership.”

“It is a predictable tactic by Pakistan to concoct false narratives against India in order to deflect the attention of its own public from the ongoing military-inspired constitutional subversion and power-grab unfolding within the country,” Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, said in a statement. “The international community is well aware of the reality and will not be misled by Pakistan’s desperate diversionary ploys.”

The recent promotions in Military made by Pakistan Government through constitution amendment too appear to be giving more or even sole power to Pakistan Army under Field Marshal Munir who has a tendency to create war like situations against India.

Less than 24 hours earlier, a car explosion in New Delhi on Monday night killed at least 10 people and injured more than 30 others. The car went up in flames near the city’s historic 17th century Red Fort, or Lal Qila, which is a symbol of India’s independence and a popular area for tourists. Some Kashmir based terrorists working in Tricity complex have been identified. The case is being investigated by India’s counter-terrorism law enforcement agency, the National Investigation Agency, and Indian authorities invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, an anti-terror law which allows security forces to detain suspects without trial. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed that India’s “agencies will go to the root of this conspiracy and will not spare the conspirators behind it.”Even so, some in India have already cast blame on Pakistan. Indian media reported links between the driver, reportedly a Kashmiri resident, and a Pakistani militant group. Meanwhile, social media users and reports have recalled the language of the deadly armed conflict with Pakistan earlier this year, calling the Delhi attack an “act of war.”

An immediate military confrontation is not a likely scenario, particularly as the Indian government is facing various international pressures, from President Donald Trump’s tariffs to seeking to strengthen its ties with China, which has long been friendly to Pakistan. There is however, a competing pressure coming from within India, particularly with growing nationalist sentiments among the public, on the government to take decisive action. If Indian authorities find a link between the car explosion and a Pakistan-based group, the government may choose to take limited military action, though even limited action has the possibility of escalation into a larger conflict. The dangerous thing is that if more and more attacks keep happening like this, India and Pakistan, may go up the escalation ladder.”

In recent months, India has increased its engagement with the Afghan Taliban, an Islamic fundamentalist group that governs Afghanistan. The Taliban and India’s government had a rare face-to-face meeting in October after a United Nations committee temporarily lifted a travel ban on Afghanistan’s interim foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi. Muttaqi made a week-long diplomatic stop in New Delhi, during which both he and India’s Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar reaffirmed “India’s long-standing friendship with the Afghan people” and “emphasized respect for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” India also agreed to “deepen its engagement in development cooperation projects.” Now there has been continuous skirmishes between Pakistan and Afghanistan troops followed by a blame game. They were brought to the negotiant by some Muslim mediators but the matter does to not appear to have been solved. The Afghan Taliban does not recognize the 2,640 km Durand Line as the border between it and Pakistan, which Islamabad does. Afghanistan accused Pakistan of carrying out drone strikes on Oct. 9 that killed several people in Kabul. In the following days, the two countries carried out a series of airstrikes on each other, while fighters mounted cross-border attacks that were among the deadliest between the neighbours since the Taliban returned to power in 2021. Pakistan's government has alleged that Afghanistan is hosting TTP, which it, the U.S. and the U.N. have designated a terrorist organization. The Taliban has denied sheltering the group. Pakistan has also recently accused India of backing TTP, which India has denied. The two countries reached a fragile cease-fire brokered by Qatar and Turkey on Oct. 19, but peace talks for a more lasting deal have reportedly strained in recent days.

As the peace between Afghanistan and Pakistan is fragile so is the peace between India and Pakistan which may blow up even at a smallest possible excuse, hence we must keep our fingers crossed and bolster of intelligence and border security and keep our forces ready to meet any escalation. We have to be diplomatically and politically active too and avoid any worldly duels which may be the cause of this new conflict.
