Intercaste Marriage

I need a very honest opinon from you people. I am a Maratha ( Khsatriya) Hindu girl and met a man from Italy who follow Ravidassian faith. he Told me he is Dalit. I know him for 4 yrs but I never was not aware that he is there are Dalits in punjab hence I never confirmed his caste. now when we talked about getting married he told me about his caste and I was shocked. I am very confused right now. I belive in caste system as I come from a bit orthodox familiy but I am a bit forward and could consider getting married to him. I am very ambitious person and noticed that all the sectors and dominated by upper caste people and atleast in other states thsi people will not let the dalit people go at top. so I wanted to make sure that i would not be discriminated if i get married to him. and please let me know how are the raviasian considered in Punjab or outside are they better soially, are they considered good compared to other states and are this marriages of upper and lower caste common and does not afftect my career at all.

The Gurus taught that caste is an illusion- caste does not matter. Humans are all equal, regardless of skin colour, race, religion, where they're from, how much money they have (all money and property is given by and belongs to God), what their profession is etc. If people discriminate, that's their problem. We all eat, sleep, use the bathroom, breathe etc. We are all just God's kids.
