Hello

Reference:: Sikh Philosophy Network http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/yoga/38472-yogi-bhajan-kundalini-yoga.html
What do you think about the Kundalini Yoga introduced by him in the western world? I began practicing it very intensely some months ago and after doing a lot of research I find that Bhajan's yoga might be a mix of Sikh and hinduist health/religious/spiritual exercises...

Thank you

Re: Yogi bhajan/kundalini yoga

Kundalini Yoga doesn't have its origins in Sikhism. Many of the original teachers (who were under Yogi Bhajan) consider themselves and practice Sikhism. New teachers have Sikh names and might keep turbans, but many of them don't call themselves Sikhs.

Not from Sikh origin... neverthless "Kirtan Kriya" - chanting the 5 primal sounds "Sa Ta Na Ma" of the Panj Shabad - is certainly from Sikh origin? The same for different ways of combining Wahe Gu Ru with breathing in order to attain deep states of awareness ...all this is in Bhajans books under the denomination of Kundalini Yoga.

See Sikhi doesn't talk of primal sounds when describing the 35 alphabets of Gurmukhi. Why not think about Go-Bi-N-D and Go-Pa-L or Da-Ya-L. We don't have to find the sounds, we have to find meaning in the Shabad and connect with that.
