A Brooklyn judge gave the okay Tuesday to a federal lawsuit accusing New York City Transit of discriminating against Muslim and Sikh employees.

Transit officials require employees wearing turbans and head scarves to affix the agency logo to the garment, prompting a lawsuit by the U.S. Justice Department.
The feds sued on behalf of 10 bus and subway workers who were transferred to less desirable jobs because their religious beliefs require them to wear the headgear "unsullied by logos," according to court papers.
"The only way to get the TA to do the right thing [is] take them to court," said Kevin Harrington, a Sikh convert who is also a Transport Workers Local 100 vice president and plaintiff in the suit.

A New York City Transit spokesman declined to comment on Federal Judge Sandra Townes' decision.
