well, after the tenth laptop in this week from people clicking the windows 10 install tab, best, unless you know what your doing is don't!

You may need to reinstall all your programs again, there is no guarantee that your current hardware is upto the job either, so unless you want hours of fun putting things back, install 10 on a standalone pc that you can have a play with rather than your primary one.

I think what Windows 10 is doing is reverting Windows back to Windows 7... :mundagrins:

I am using it. All my files came through OK except my .gif program, Ulead. It wasn't working well anyway. Right now I hate Windows 10, but I might change my mind afterI learn how to use it. I still haven't found an easy way to access my documents and pictures.

I still have not had a good play but word on the street is that its a good one, however, its not a good idea to install it over an existing 7 installation that is needed

just as an added warning, win 10 has just rendered an upgraded hard drive completely corrupted and unreadable, the upgrade started, message came up saying pc needs to be repaired insert system disc, (which of course you don't have!), sure its recoverable, but be aware, again, the risk of needing recovery is huge with this upgrade, if on a current OS

So you think it is best to remove windows 7 first? I really don't like messing with my machine that way.

I have learned to use Windows 10. It's OK, butI don't see any improvement over Windows 7. Change for the sake of change, if you ask me. .

There is, however, a pressing reason to get it. Microsoft will soon stop supporting Windows 7 [you heard it here first] and you'll need to pay for Windows 10 by then.
