What is the field list option for when creating a combo box?

If I want to manually make a field in table into a combo box, I normally go
into design view and go to the Lookup tab in the Field Properties section and
choose Combo Box from the Display Field section, Value List from the Row
Source Type and then I type in my values in the Row Source section. My
question is, what is the field list used for in the Row Source Type section?

I only learned this recently, and I can't see any use for it, except to build
    relationship diagrams.

Select Field list and supply a table name as the row source. The combo
box will display a list of fields in that table.

    Danny's already answered your question.

I just wanted to mention that most of us recommend very strongly against
creating lookup fields in tables. You should never be working directly with
tables: you should always use a form. With that approach, it makes
absolutely no sense to use a lookup field in a table. Take a look at
http://www.mvps.org/access/lookupfields.htm for some of the reasons for our
    recommendation.
