Structure - which way is best...

I have a DB that controls what is essentially 4 different sets of data. Each
set will eventually be in 1000s of records. The front end uses different
forms to access and manipulate the data.

Is it better to keep all the data in one table, or spread it out across four
different back-ends. They are seperate now only because there used to be
different front ends as well. Is there a speed difference? Data integrity?

Considerations - not relating to speed:

    1) Probably, currently you don't have queries across mdbs, But if and
or after you end up creating those queries, what will happen to your
data integrity if one of those mdbs has to be set back to a backup, but
the other three not. On the surface, that is the only thing that I
would worry about, but I have not had to do that, yet, so I haven't
    given it too much thought.
