    Republican Representatives:
Slavery a “blessing” for African-Americans, kill the prisoners, and kick out the Muslim Americans.

    Source: Omid Safi, Religion News

There is genuinely something racist in the soul of the America these days, and that this demon will have to be confronted and exorcised to restore sanity into our country.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet your Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, Jon Hubbard. Representative Hubbard hails from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Hubbard has recently self-published a book titled: “Letters to the Editor: Confessions of a Frustrated Conservative.”

This is NOT "NEW"....over here in MALAYSIA..the OFFICIAL GOVT position vis vis the "Chinese and Indian IMMIGRANTS who were brought in by the BRITISH to build roads, railways, plantations etc are regarded as "Blessed" because they eventually got "Malaysian CITIZENSHIP"....This BLESSING is being officially WRITTEN in our History books, schools syllabus and being TAUGHT in Schools.....so to me Hubbard is just one American person....what would you call our GOVT ?? Can a Govt demon be exorcised ??? ACTUALLY the Arab Countries, Oppressed Iran, Iraq, Syria Tunisia...the Muslim Ruled countries have lots more "demons" of this kind..

You're right. It is happening in so many places. I think what surprises me most about the American politicians is they were voted into office by the American people. This means enough bigots believed in their message to vote them into office. In the US, people claim to be such a wonderful melting pot of races, cultures, etc., but there is a lot of bigotry and discrimination in our country and it seems to be increasing. That upsets me tremendously, but maybe I need to learn it is just part of being human. It doesn't make it right, but maybe it is not possible for societies to be free of discrimination long term.

In Malaysia, do you have democracy? If I understand right, your government is similar to the government of UK, am I right there?

    Blessings to you...

Arkansas is one of those desolate sparsely populated little spots, that have towns where residents have never been further than 50 miles from their home. One member of a state house of Representatives has little power anywhere. He is much more of an embarrassment than anything.

The place where this man is from is not a melting pot. It is a place where children, if they can, leave at the age of 18. After he has sufficiently embarrassed even Arkansas, he will be voted out and run out of town.

America has problems, no doubt about it but it has not descended to the level of violence visited on other countries. I am grateful for that. :animatedkhanda1:

One of the persistent problems facing forum dialog is the use of a single example to type an entire population. In this case one Republican is being used to type all Republican officials, and all Republicans, as well as being the test case for declaring that dark forces lurk in the heart of America. All Americans? All Republicans? Democrats? Independents? Socialists?

The book reviewer is entitled to his opinion too. Does he have an agenda?

Sangat ji, I submit that this suffers from a number of logical fallacies and we deserve better, particularly when the message is eternalized in a self-published book and the author admits he is frustrated.
