Maintaining several different FE files can be a maintenance nightmare. I recommend using either Access ULS (user-level security) or your own home-grown method (ie. usernames in a table, with code that identifies the user at startup and sets the appropriate startup form). If each user is running their own copy of the FE file, as they should be, there are neither cons nor benefits to opening the FE file in exclusive mode. What would be the cons of making each front end exclusive by going to Toools, Options, Advance, and selecting Exclusive?
