I converted the file format of my database to 2002-2003 format in order to
create my MDE file. I am wanting to share this MDE file with 2 other users,
but they are using Access version 2002. I was assuming that since the file
format is 2002-2003 that 2002 users could use it, but they get an error. It
says that the format is unorganized or something like that. My question is
do I have to update them to Access 2003 in order to use the MDE file or
should they be able to use it with Access 2002 and if so how can I make that
    work?

If they have A2K, you should not need to upgrade them.

Have you tested the MDE on your machine?

Are you double sure that they have A2K and not something like Access 2000 or
    97?

Is your system A2003 and that's where you created the MDE? If so
A2002 cannot run an A2003 MDE.

A2002 can run an A2002/A2003 MDB however. Just to confuse you.

Re: Problems with 2002 access users using an MDE file format 2002-

Yeah when you do the converting of the file to 2002-2003 format, I just
assumed that it would work on Access 2002 even though I did Create the MDE
file with 2003. Thanks for your help!
