Problem with linked OLE fields

    Hi there

I'm having a very strange problem with an OLE field in an Access
database (the version is 2003). The field in question contains a
    mixture of embedded and
linked PowerPoint presentations. The embedded presentations work just
as you'd expect - I can right click on a field in the table and choose
edit, which will open the presentation in PowerPoint. However some of
    the
    linked fields throw an error:

'..can't open the file containing the OLE object'.

However, what's confusing me is I can right click, copy that field and
paste into a Powerpoint document. Any ideas what can be causing this?
The problem means we're having problems extracting the items from the
    fields programatically.

    Thanks

    Keivn Poulton

    Hi Kevin

Not really sure what could causeing the problem but as we use many OLE
fields I flicked around the web to try and see what may be out there.

The best I could find was on the main MS site. It may help to have a look
    at this link.

Since you're here... we have a small favor to ask...

More people are visiting & reading SPN than ever but far fewer are paying to sustain it. Advertising revenues across the online media have fallen fast. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Donating to SPN's is vote for free speech, for diversity of opinions, for the right of the people to stand up to religious bigotry. Without any affiliation to any organization, this constant struggle takes a lot of hard work to sustain as we entirely depend on the contributions of our esteemed writers/readers. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too... Fund our efforts and together we can keep the world informed about the real Sikh Sikhi Sikhism. If everyone who writes or reads our content, who likes it, helps us to pay for it, our future would be much more secure. Every Contribution Matters, Contribute Generously!
