    Hi,
I want to sort my records in a table according to another field than the
primary key. So under table properties I type the name of that field in the
the Order By field. It works fine ...

UNTILL I make the slightest change in design view to anything in the table.
Next time I look, the records are again sorted by the primary key and my
Order By setting is gone ...

Any idea how to fix that?

Do not try to order the table but order the display in a query, form, or
    report.

Thanx a bundle! But I would prefer to have my records ordered while I type in
new ones - gives a better overview - should be possible without manually
right-clicking on the coloumn again and again.
    regards,
    jonas

It is best to enter new records into a form rather than the table.

    Thanks again.

    I guess there's something basic I haven't understood about Acces then - I
don't see the point in the existance of table view, if it's not meant for
entering new records. That is, as long as I enter the records myself. But
thanks for your time. I'll see if I can work that out and post a new question
    if needed.

It doesn't change the fact that there is obviously a bug in Acces when it
    doesn't keep that setting I've entered ...

    /jonas
